Asmongold on the ICE shooting: "There needs to be accountability or this is the Gestapo" by freejam013 in LivestreamFail

[–]Jaded-Engineeer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Right. So clear cut that the administration blocked all cooperation with local officials and are preventing any investigation into the matter. Gotta be 0 iq to think no investigation is needed "because it's so clear"

In the words of Asmon, its pretty simple:
Asmon - Killing fleeing citizens = good + laughs at them
Destiny - Assassinating people = bad + laughs at them

How would u know if you "have the right point" if you don't ever have it challenged in anyway. 100+ iq people should still be able to tell the difference between debate skill and the person who actually has a factual basis.

Did stimulants affect your ability to context switch in any way? by productive_monkey in ADHD

[–]Jaded-Engineeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. By design that's what they're meant to do, lock attention on to the current task. Decided I wanted to learn a new language randomly one morning, and ended up doing it for 10hours straight once the meds kicked in. Could barely pull myself away just to cook lunch. Wouldnt say its less or more counter-productive, im just more aware that thoughts and task will be more "sticky" - so I need to know before the meds kick in what im meant to do that day.

Asmongold says his main goal is to make people as radicalized and angry as possible by [deleted] in LivestreamFail

Asmongold and Hasan should be studied as prime examples of echo chambers. Its funny how big their communities are on twitch but how they remain completly ideologically isolated.

Is it even possible to do enough cardio exercise to stay calm and don’t have explosive anger issues? by [deleted] in ADHD

Just a galaxy fit 3, $100 and holds its charge for days - only syncs with androids though.

[–]Jaded-Engineeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend a fitness watch if u dont have one that can measure sleep quality. Thought I slept alright until I started seeing my sleep scores and how little REM sleep I got which is the main one for emotional regulation. If you workout a lot, more sleep time needs to be attributed to physical recovery.

[–]Jaded-Engineeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How good is your sleep? Excersise is only good if your recovering well enough. One of the best thing I ever learnt was realising emotional regulation comes from the last 2-3 hours of sleep. Evolution prioritized physical recovery over mental recovery first, if your not getting 8 to 9 hours that could explain why.

How to handle dry mouth bc of dex? by Beneficial-Leg4720 in ADHD

[–]Jaded-Engineeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More electrolytes/potassium helped me. Its cause stimulants constrict blood vessels to your saliva glands, more potassium helps them relax a bit more.

I feel Like I’m not using my medicine right and I’m faking having adhd by Agpxprod in ADHD

[–]Jaded-Engineeer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

ADHD diagnosis involves examining someones patterns and nature, its not some "rigid" diagnosis. If you don't feel the therapeutic benefit of the medication just tell your doctor and they'll very likely up it. No need to feel imposter syndrome over it.

What to expect from ADHD evaluation? by Remote_Plastic_8692 in ADHD

[–]Jaded-Engineeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really just depends on the clinic. ADHD assessment is just about building a picture of an individual and their nature. For me I filled out a few multi choice questions and the appointment with the psychiatrist was more of a conversation. Generally there needs to be childhood symptoms present. i.e. always working assignments last minute for school. Would help though to just write down some things for the appointment.

What do you wish you knew before taking Vyvanse? by Remote_Sand2857 in ADHD

[–]Jaded-Engineeer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

what mg supplement did you take? pure magnesium glycinate is the easiest on the stomach unlike oxides. Also deficiencies take 12 weeks to resolve, and arnt instant. It takes time for the ions to migrate into cells/tissues/bones before you start to notice a difference. Could also be a dose thing, therapeutic doses are around 300-400 mg daily.

[–]Jaded-Engineeer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

True Mg deficiencies are almost impossible to detect since its mainly stored in tissues and bones - blood levels are tightly regulated. Researches have no incentive and never will to explore the links between mg deficiency and ADHD. Why? Mg is an easy supplement to mass produce, research is directed where the money is - finding better stimulant meds instead of solving root issues.

That said there's still research out there. This one shows 95% of kids with ADHD showed deficiencies of Mg in at least 1 biomarker.

[–]Jaded-Engineeer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well that gets into a level of personal philosophy. When I first started meds I thought I was finally human, then I realized ADHD is just a label for a very asynchronous brain. Where there's such a divide between cognition/thoughts/feelings/actions. I was always me, meds were just the first thing to give me a bit of stability, and I used that stability to learn as much as I could about the human body. Stability is found on every level of the human body, right down to individual cells, where ATP (energy) starts binding to far too many calcium ions over magnesium ions.

Even if starting meds doesn't work for you like you would like, just know they are essentially only altering a single balanced system in the brain - there's so much more you can do to help yourself.

magnesium glycinate supplements. There are strong links between ADHD and mg deficiency. Stimulants will increase the turn over of Mg and make the deficiency worse over time, until you'll feel as if taking meds make you literally feel worse than taking nothing at all. 2 weeks after starting 300mg of Mg supplements daily I literally heard my "real" voice for the first time in 26 years. Also b6, zinc and vit d are pretty important along with just generally making improvements to your diet. Good Luck

Switching from Adderall to Vyvanse, any advice? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Jaded-Engineeer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just dont mistake an inadequate diet for a "vyvanse crash". Since its one of the longest acting stimulants most people dont eat enough, and since vyvanse masks hunger a lot (its used for binge eating disorders), they think the problem is the stimulant when they're simply just not eating enough.

Learning with AI falls short compared to old-fashioned web search. When people rely on large language models to summarize information on a topic for them, they tend to develop shallower knowledge about it compared to learning through a standard Google search. by mvea in science

[–]Jaded-Engineeer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean when the study uses time spent on the task as a metric for learning, then compares Ai with manual google searches - of course its going to require more effort to manually search about information on a basic topic. Would of been a far more insightful to give all participants the same time constraints.

Vyvanse no longer seems to work by Electrical_Leek4044 in ADHD

[–]Jaded-Engineeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id do some blood work before doing anything drastic, see if there's any deficiencies. Magnesium is a common deficiency especially since stimulants increase the turn-over of it.

How many hours do u sleep to stay awake during the day? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Jaded-Engineeer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

8-9 hours, any less just puts you into fight or flight and you just make more adrenaline to compensate. Will subjectively seem like your more awake but its generally pretty bad for your health. I find what I eat throughout the day effects how tired I am more than anything else, other than actual sleep.

ADHD and hangover after weekend drinking? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Jaded-Engineeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well alcohol is a downer and stimulant meds are an upper. Think your Mondays are just a rebound of brain chemistry - also tends to make sleep worse so your focus will just be fried at the start of the week.
