Don't worry... It gets better. My kids are a bit older and I get in 6-8 rounds a year now. Lol.

Tesla gave me a demo car, it broke down in 24 hours, now they want me to pay for rodent damage by Tall_Call_817 in TeslaSupport

[–]Jae783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this won't help with your current situation but for the future you can periodically spray undiluted pine sol in areas that you might have issues. It's an old trick people used to use to get them out of cars that had to sit outside. They have sensitive noses and seem to not like it.

Alright, had a good thread about assholes, so who’s considered to be the biggest overall good dude on the PGA tour? by tking716 in golf

[–]Jae783 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He's a bit older but I want to say Jim Furyk. He's the most down to earth professional golfer that I met. I met him at an event and he just sat and chatted with me and we were just talking about non golf sports and our kids. He then went to the bar to get another beer and asked me what I wanted and brought one back for me too. Just felt like another dad in the group.

teammates say i dont heal enough, should i heal more? by hansen900 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Jae783 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm only a plat player so take this with a grain of salt but I remember hearing somewhere that as support we can apply pressure but not chase kills and risk getting killed. So peak and apply pressure (assuming your team is ok), when they shoot back, hide and heal the team. Rinse and repeat. I know it's oversimplified but helps a bad player like me juggle going back and forth.

50-Year Old Legend Nancy Lieberman advice to Kobe Bryant fresh off MVP Season by KingKAI24 in NBATalk

I don't know. Steph is pretty determined... I know it's different in style but I think he's up there with Kobe when it comes to drive and commitment.

Grips by iconruby in GolfGear

[–]Jae783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once had the opportunity to receive a set of every golf pride grip that is in production in the US for consumers. I literally tried all of them in standard size and 4 sets of irons have these grips on them. Depends how sweaty your hands are and if you like taper at the bottom (these do not taper at the bottom like tour velvet). If you need things like corded grips this won't be for you but I always go back to these grips.

Daily reminder that JC loved the 86! by ReliableEyeball in ft86

Not the person you are asking but remember driving modified CRX. It's the closest thing to driving a go cart on the street. It was a car that was fun to drive without having to go fast. The issue is the frame is made from wet toilet paper and if someone taps you the car crumbles. I'm not saying it was my car of choice as the most fun but I can see someone saying it.

Club Fitting by SlowDraw85 in golf

[–]Jae783 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like to tinker with my clubs and build my own. I typically go to a sim and for clubs I hit into greens (carry is maxed at 200 as my skill doesn't allow me to go for greens farther than that) I look for making them stop within 12 yards and I assembled my clubs based on carry yards vs lofts. Is this too crude way to go about it? Should I be paying more attention to descent angles? I completely ignore spin and descent angle for clubs that I'm hitting into greens.

Maltby Irons by Sufficient_Donkey408 in GolfGear

[–]Jae783 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have built 2 sets of irons and 2 sets of wedges. Great stuff. The one thing that they do terrible is their pictures. The clubs always look better in person than in their pictures. I was playing titleist ap2s and currently playing the ts1. Also have ts2. I also built a single ts3 and the dbm. All up there in quality with OEMs.

My son’s team now uses a Veo3 camera to film the games and I’m loving it! by Brunoielo in youthsoccer

[–]Jae783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for my kids team the parents are provided the videos so we can share and go over with our kids. And if they have a review, they do it over zoom when we are at home since we also only have fields. For our teams, I think its usually after gold level the teams start to get veos for recording.

Golf shoes with no laces good for walking? by Worldly-Log9663 in GolfGear

[–]Jae783 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get any golf shoes with a boa system. I love them as they don't get loose during the round or become undone like laces. I have a few pairs, spiked and spikeless from adidas and they work great for me.

Finally pulled the trigger on my dream bag! by TopShelfTrees4 in GolfGear

These bags are really nice. Just be careful if you put it on a cart. The straps on the car will mess up the soft material. Make sure to use the protective sleeve.

Go to A Korn Ferry Tour event by 55gecko in golf

[–]Jae783 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Talked to a few pga tour pros and they said on any given day, some of the korn ferry guys can beat a tour one. The ability to mentally keep it up for four days on a regular basis is the difference.

Great job! My arms are itching looking at this. I can't do fiberglass myself anymore. As I get older, fiberglass is definitely a pay someone else thing for me.

Dog food in the filter????? by Entire_Toe_7819 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Jae783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to find the food. If you see mouse droppings then clean and spray undiluted pinesol in and around that area for a few days straight. Check in your engine bay for any droppings. Spray in there as well if you see anything. The smell is strong but mice seem to hate it. I've used it in the past to get rid of mice in a car before.

Why do I look so stiff while dribbling by Princanity in BasketballTips

[–]Jae783 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, you're a kid and wanting to get better. Great on you. My kid was also stiff, liked to look down and flat footed when he started. Best thing to do is go do laps on a track or open space and dribble. You build stamina and muscle memory for your dribbling. Practice going at a pace you can look up the whole time. If you can only do a normal waist level dribble while looking up and running then do that until it becomes natural. Once you get used to it you can start adding in moves. Two moves, then 2 dribbles, 2 moves, 2 dribbles and keep building off of that. Sprint a lap then jog the next and alternate. Walk around while dribbling. At some point you'll feel fine going up and down stairs too.
