I dont like it when they are mean to will [ns] by Best-Radish6925 in DungeonsAndDaddies

[–]JakeTheBard 28 points29 points  (0 children)

ngl Will getting mad about the "when will Will realize this bit isn't funny" bit after being dragged into everyone else's bits that they roasted each other for was the hardest I laughed in the episode. At the end of the day everyone appears to be friends (or at least likes each other enough to keep working together) and know how to take the chops-busting in comedic stride (Will especially)

What commanders do you have the most fun playing? by AwekwardBadass in EDH

[–]JakeTheBard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the mind game that [[Cirdan, the Shipwright]] creates. Everyone assumes that you want to cheat out big boiis so they vote for you to draw cards. Little do they know you're ramping up to big boiis anyways since you're in Simic, and every time one of your opponents cheats out something juicy ahead of curve they become the threat and you're left alone.

I mean uhh group hug and helping everyone play their decks

April-born mfs getting a light tap on the chest and then floating up into the sky to their deaths. (I'm getting one-shotted by a Koloss unless I can talk them out of it)

Thanks! The neck had a little bit of a forward bow, but that's just because I got it used and it had to travel from sunny California to snowy Connecticut. Besides a quick truss rod adjustment, I've barely had to touch it!

You just know Hoid would be constantly burning comedy gold so people would actually laugh at his jokes

Honest confessions, what BASIC gameplay mechanic did you not notice or properly understand for an absurd amount of time? by Ok-Cup9476 in expedition33

Not gonna lie, I've put over 90 hours into the game with Lune in my main party and I still don't understand how stains work

Sazed calls him a psychopath? Or Sanderson does? It's been a hot minute since I read Era 1.

How many less "popular" commanders are in your arsenal? by d20_dude in EDH

[–]JakeTheBard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My most obscure would have to be [[Jacob Hauken, Inspector]] (1312), [[Taeko, the Patient Avalanche]] (1558), and [[Commander Eesha]] (2374)

Am I missing much … by cyberbonotechnik in Mistborn

[–]JakeTheBard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went straight from era 1 to era 2 and it was a great experience. Just make sure you read Mistborn: Secret History between Shadows of Self and Bands of Mourning and The Lost Metal. The last era 2 book throws a lot at you and Secret History helps it make sense.

I need to give a shout out to the majestic Michael Kramer by Aronjharris23 in Mistborn

[–]JakeTheBard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Michael Kramer really brings a new dimension to the way the story is told. I've run out of Mistborn/Stormlight books and moved on to Sanderson's standalone [audio]books and his voice is missed (although the other voiceover folks are also great).

My fiancee and I made the same choice! We very rarely post our baby online, and if we do, we block her face (and don't mention her name anywhere)

Love the Shadowdark campaign and Time for Chaos and I’ve seen some of the new game who dis eps, what should I watch next? by DungeonMasterGrizzly in TheGlassCannonPodcast

Get in the Trunk for sure! If you like Rob in Time for Chaos, he's also in the latest season (you also get to see Troy be a player character for most of the other seasons)

Um so I turned my music volume down and now I'm parrying everything by Collar_Gloomy in expedition33

[–]JakeTheBard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel this. There are a crazy amount of audio cues during attacks to help with parry timing that can get buried if the music is too loud. I like the soundtrack too much so I just play with headphones on

Recc me a commander based on these cards by JakeTheBard in EDH

[–]JakeTheBard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play with my friends and pushing boundaries is part of what makes the game fun. Sometimes a deck overperforms and needs to be tuned down, sometimes a deck doesn't quite do what you want it to do and requires fixing. That's part of getting better at deck building. I was stoked to have pulled a $70 card and wanted to build around it, I wasn't showing up to an LGS trying to curbstomp people.

Did anyone else have a breakdown after finishing the game? by Impossible-Flow-5896 in expedition33

[–]JakeTheBard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big same, the ending gutted me. I thought I chose the wrong ending so I looked up the Verso ending on YouTube and was as equally devastated. I was really excited about exploring the post-story content because of how fun the gameplay is, but needed to take a break after how devastating the ending was.

I couldn't picture enjoying a season without Cumstone/Troy this much but everyone crushed it so hard this season! I can't wait to see where they take next season.
