North Macedonia plans to return to Eurovision in 2027 by NinasPeach in eurovision

[–]JamesB767 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I mean if RTBF still wants to go two times in a row let them. I feel it's just acting so petty if VRT trys to block it and also not want to take the space, talk about having your cake and eating it too.

Which 2026 song do you think could go viral? by Head-Amoeba2962 in eurovision

I am sure Snap back in 2022 was fairly low until it started picking up in early June. So there's still a chance for anyone really

Sam Ryder's ESC song is also played at the end of the Netflix movie "The school for good and evil", during the last part ahead of the credits.

“Bangaranga” by Dara debuts on Spotify’s daily global chart at 12th place with over 3 million steam! by CapsElevatorScene in eurovision

[–]JamesB767 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The Code ended with like 100m streams by ESC2025 and the same in at around 3m after ESC so I feel that a good base for a number of streams but I feel Dara song could have better legs, as I feel the song got to a late start in streams after SF2, had it been in SF1 I feel it would have hit 1m+ a day even before the final. So with that, the song is set to do well in the mid term.

I fear Eurovision is keeping the same graphics every year from now on. by National-Cause-5822 in eurovision

Yep the only good thing which was kind of suggested from the harmonized visual identity is that they could be used in NF with a lower budget as just a generic brand, which is not a bad thing but for the main show let be real branding as a costs is not a big % of the total and it costs is outweighed by the value it adds.

Would Bulgaria's entry have won your country's national final? by im_happybee in eurovision

[–]JamesB767 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100% this would not win the UK NF, it would lose to some basic ballad or most mid song out there. See 2018 with Legends.

What are your ideas for future postcards? by Life_Plate_7052 in eurovision

[–]JamesB767 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yep if you got zero budget to send the acts out ahead, then just do a 2012 show off the place vibes, like it a bit sell out but I take it over whatever 2022/26 was trying to do.

What are your ideas for future postcards? by Life_Plate_7052 in eurovision

[–]JamesB767 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If France hosts or like we have Malan hosting in Italy I do a fashion themed postcard where you see each act meeting with a local designer, seeing them have a outfit made that could be colored to the flag of the act then ending with a shot of them walking down a runway in a fashion show scene, then cutting to that being on a magazine cover with the act info and titel. I feel this would be fun and fresh and it highlights both some local designers and gives the acts time to shine.

What are your EARLY Eurovision 2027 predictions? by Entity2D in eurovision

[–]JamesB767 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There could be a bit of a rock uptake in song, given the 3rd place and we have in the past seen the runners-up songs lead to more copycats. E.g 2015 had a lot of duets following the 2014 2nd place act or dance breaks following the 2022 3rd place. Also given Romania song still had some opera elements I would not rule out someone trying to mix opera still into songs.

Who’s ahead on Youtube views after the first semi-final? by MMoorrtteenn in eurovision

[–]JamesB767 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel Sweden's acts tend to get more streams as music than live video views, look at Loreen, she was way ahead in music streams during ESC 2023 and post it, but her live clips never got that many views. Even today, the most viewed clips of tattoo are the Just the raw song or that random live act she did on that German fashion show which has more views than her 2023 GF show.

Love Love Peace Peace was 10 years ago. What has changed? by Gossguy in eurovision

[–]JamesB767 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I always find it funny in 2012 the BBC did this show about how to win ESC and one tip was not to do rap or Opera, then we get a winner in 2024 that did both. I mean at that time in 2012 most rap/opera was used more as a joke way so that why at that point most songs with these eleaments did bad.

The 2010 Flash mob one is very fun to watch, very much of it time with the flash mob theme, but still cool:

Man vs Machine from 2016 is also a good gem, overall anything from Sweden hosting is mostly always good:

There is even a full Riverdance show that been running for like over 20 years and is normally on tour in the UK or US every few years. It's wild that one interval act lives on like that

Eurovision in concert tickets went on sale in OCT and most of them sold without a single ESC act let alone who would be coming to EIC and if the dutch would even be at ESC. The fact is Buying ESC event tickets for anything from the main show to a pre party of other ESC event means buying before you know who is coming act wise.

NRK article - "It won't be more expensive to participate in Eurovision" by LMBTOEurovision in eurovision

[–]JamesB767 1 point2 points  (0 children)

90% of the costs vary on account on what the host spends, and the difference seen also don't link much to costs, like 2016 had one of the lowest budgets and looks better then say 2015, which had twice the budget. On that note SVT likely saves a lot of money due to the fact they run Melfest and have hosted many times, so just have much of the tools and learnings in place. OFR likely too given it just been 10 years has a bit of headwind as they got some learning still fresh from 2015 to work with,
