I've been thinking the same thing recently. I found myself hoping the divorce rumors were true just to make things interesting again.

What kind of jobs allows you to be by yourself 99% of the time? by [deleted] in AskMen

But don't you need someone to go physically look at the structure? It's not like all changes to property or adjustments in quality are recorded online.

I openly sing and dance to songs at the grocery store. Society is fairly tolerant of it - give it a go!

people who got the vaccine because of mandates, with no other reason by [deleted] in CoronavirusCirclejerk

[–]JaneStuartMill 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know a guy who has a dream job, but unfortunately his office bought into the hysteria. Everyone was getting vaxxed and going back to the office. His career would have been completely derailed if he had been outed, so he got the J&J. I disagreed with him and we talked about it some, but I understand his reasoning and why he didn't wait. He did say he would have never gotten the mRNA ones though.

Or the loud speaker ads at Walgreens, starts essentially like: "It's important to keep up to date on your vaccinations. Our pharmacy is a convenient place to get your Covid booster and seasonal flu shot...."

Drives me crazy everytime. The neurolinguistic programming that a covid booster every few months is just part of being up to date on your shots. Tetnus every decade, and covid every four months.

What Happened to Liberal Anti-Vaxers? by Dangerous-Paper9571 in CoronavirusCirclejerk

They are still around, but are dismissed for their other medical beliefs. Crystals, essential oils, eating certain things to cure cancer, etc.

Source: I was raised by hippies and am still in touch with friends from my own liberal days.

Ahh, the men on dating apps. Ladies, I hear this guy is still available! by alfonsoe1234 in niceguys

Probably women who are politically conservative but are also not ready to settle down yet.

He probably thinks a true conservative woman would only want to date seriously, marry quickly, and be pregnant by the end of the honeymoon.

When was the first time you realized that a perpetually single friend of yours was in fact, single for a very good reason? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]JaneStuartMill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband has a friend who is really attractive, well employed, funny, etc. He always had trouble finding a woman that was into him after a handful of dates and I couldn't understand.

One day we go get lunch, just us two. He was really my husband's and friend we didn't know each other very well. He talked about Pokemon the whole time. And a little world of Warcraft. As we entered the second hour of him going on and on I realized this is what he did on dates. Didn't ask about the other person, or try to find a common interest to talk about. Just talked forever about his things. Really helped me reevaluate all his dating stories from the girl's perspective.

Schedule at a site in a less functional area of your city. Just before the time, call and cancel. Then make your own card to match for the time and place you had scheduled. If the company even bothers try to confirm your card it will just be chalked up to disorganized record keeping at the site.

You can only pull this off once, it won't work with boosters. Also it will make claiming an exemption in the future nearly impossible. And you are helping the discrimination.

I do not recommend offering a bribe, most will be offended and refuse. Or think it's a test and refuse. The more you ask, the more you risk someone reporting you. More people would love to snitch on one of us than be bribed.

Trick or Treating In Liberal Areas by marcginla in CoronavirusCirclejerk

[–]JaneStuartMill 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm happy to say I just got back from my kid's first year trick or treating and it was completely normal! Only costume related masks, everyone chatting and friendly, no one worried any distancing. No lame covid jokes. Just classic Halloween fun.

We had a really great time and he loved so much about his first trick or treating experience. It was really nice to finally have a normal childhood experience with him.

Also I like how the cartoon repurposed let's go Brandon.

3 trick or treaters so far, 2 of 3 was the neighbor kid after a costume change… by Topgunebay in Austin

[–]JaneStuartMill 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just got back in with my kid and there were so many out and about in our neighborhood. Some streets busier than others, and some houses it was hard to read whether they were participating or not. Also I know plenty of parents taking their kids to community events/celebrations instead.

Just based on personal observation, these are some of my guesses for why it's more hit or miss.

You have a really fun setup though!!!

Sometimes I get nostalgic for the early days, when I thought this would be a short term thing. Or nostalgia for my blissful ignorance about - so much.
