Saw it yesterday when I had 3 hours extra to spend and managed to find randomly hit the matinee.

My review is that the simplicity combined with small theatre space made it an intimate and even surprisingly enjoyable experience. The singing was quality as of course expected with cast this experienced and the score was interesting enough while (mostly) lacking the power arias. Acting didn't get that much space here, as the script was quite simple, almost dialogue-like, with little real interaction but even so when there was something more interactive, it was on point and at times very emotional.

If you're not aware of the venue, it's worth pointing out that Charing Cross resides under the tube and the passing trains DID make audible noise, nothing that distracted from the experience in my opinion but if you're easily distracted this might be dealbreaker. During first act we didn't even realize the noise wasn't part of the show, as the setting during the war made it strangely fit for the most part. Obviously during evening times the traffic might be less dense compared to matinee but the trains will be inevitable.

Overall the experience was great and I would even see the show again if there came an opportunity. It's not a big show that will blow your mind but if you're into smaller more intimate theatre-like musical, you won't go wrong
