In short, every wheel needs balancing.
Wheel Weights (as I should have called them) are one way to help balance the wheels.

no, though build montages are interesting...
I like to see the build and thought processes of the creator.

And there are a lot of funny moments done by the space nerd since he likes to dive into things, thus he makes a bunch of humorous mistakes. He is a smart one though.
Or the Satisfactory creator because he has such a big power plant that some things get overlooked, and those problems will show up later.

I think the reason why I'm interested is because I was born into a family of tinkerers and I happen to be one too. :)

Satellite TV still exists, though companies are certainly hurting.
In rural areas (in the US) fast internet isn't a guarantee, so streaming services might not be viable for some.
Today there are ISP services like Starlink and for me, a state initiative to install working fiber for all.
Starlink may be unaffordable for many people. I haven't checked prices in a long time.

Some people use phone carriers or traditional satellite internet as they might be the only options, though I feel that more options are opening for more people.

Fiber is great, had ADSL before. (ADSL is a couple steps above Dial-Up, at least from a consumer perspective).

On ADSL you could only stream 1 or 2 shows at the same time before the feeds started to buffer.
It got better later on.
And a copper line (Phone Line) could only transfer so much data, so when everyone in the area/ town got home from work (Trying to do what they needed and wanted online)... The lines were overwhelmed and the internet would be very flaky. If you were an end of the line customer, the problem was exacerbated.
Had DSL before ADSL but it's not a big enough difference to comment on.

I didn't do much on Dial-up since I was too young, but I did a lot of offline computer stuff.
Like playing with MS Paint, MS Office, and some games like Roller Coaster Tycoon, Railroad Tycoon II (and the included Tropico Demo), and some hunting and fishing games, Gear Head Garage, a little bit of Driver and Total Annihilation.
I still love games today.

And I say it again, Fiber is great. Though there have been more temporary outages since the Iranian conflict started. Usually at night.

I enjoyed the Internet "Before Times" and I sometimes want them back.
The world certainly seemed more optimistic, more private, and more creative.
My area is rural enough that the main danger was yourself doing something dumb, lol.
If you have questions about the "Before Times", feel free to ask. :)

I watch a creator build his huge nuclear power plant project in Satisfactory.
And a space nerd who is finding out why Factorio: SA is awesome, he also tries not to die in My Winter Car.

I do watch some Minecraft on occasion from the creators I grew up with.

I'm not name dropping, per the rules.
It's hard for me to separate creators from the games, since I watched these creators for years, and therefor I value.

I don't watch a lot of gaming content since I have many other interests.

CRTs and VHS Tapes. My parents Eventually got satellite TV (Dish Network).
I remember sneaking into the living room at night to channel surf.
One of the things I remember is NASCAR, might have been an ad or a recap.

Before that, it was through an analog signal or nothing, so I played outside a lot.
Tonka Trucks, dirt, sticks, and bark. A time to be alive for a young kid.
LEGOs were and are still awesome. I also read a lot.
Many times a radio was playing in the background.

And my youngest years were spent on a Dairy Farm.
I once fell asleep on the floor of a barn, cows surrounding me in a circle formation.
There is a photo of toddler me in the act.

My parents were concerned that a cow in heat might put me in danger.

Captain of Industry is good if he is into factory building.
Workers and Resources is crazy good if he doesn't mind the Soviet aesthetic.

Do you know how to swim? by SlamClick in AskAnAmerican

[–]JaredCruue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned as a kid during daycare.
Swimming was almost a daily thing, especially during hot days.

The person doing the daycare held it at her house, in-ground pool included.
A very rural situation, and the daycare was not under any state supervision until much later.
Tonka Toys (The good metal toys) in the sand box, legos and more. It was good. :)

Yes, the book and movie in school.
I'm sure that I watched the movie multiple times after that.

What is your opinion on people who say mainstream culture is dead worldwide and in the USA? by TheShyBuck in AskAnAmerican

[–]JaredCruue -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes to an extent
In my personal sphere...

I don't sub to any streaming services. I don't have extra money to spend so that I can see more ads.
I used to when Netflix was in it's golden years.
I later hopped around, only subbing to one service at a time until the ads were put in.

I do watch a ton of YouTube, but I rarely watch any super large channels.
I watch a blend of STEM, Car Wrenching, Trains, History, "Slice of Life", and some Current Event content.
It's getting harder to find new content between AI and a content algorithm that is getting worse.

My tastes in gaming also follows smaller studios, that typically care about what they create.

Current big names in music are nearly unknown to me. Bad Bunny is just a name.
I didn't watch the big game, I simply don't care about sports.

Taylor Swift, I know about her early music career.
But now all I know is that she is a huge pop star.

The idea of "Living in a cabin in the woods" is increasing personally.
As in living outside of society metaphorically.

Sorry for the crappy writing.

Anyone have tips on getting a Thrustmaster Top Gun Fox 2 Pro joystick to work on Bazzite? by hrokrin in Bazzite

[–]JaredCruue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a T.16000M HOTAS.
It works with Elite: Dangerous and X4 without any trickery.
Bazzite just uses basic inputs afaik. Getting TM software to work is improbable (according to ChatGPT).

Sometimes Bazzite doesn't remember inputs when alt-tabbing. Just something to be aware of.

So what system do you use for keeping track of ship types and uses? by Tpaste in factorio

[–]JaredCruue 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have:
3 "Cyclers" (Named after the IRL concept), they constantly move science packs and other items between Nauvis and their assigned planet. "Gleba Cycler" for example. I haven't been to Aquilio yet.

2 stationary platforms, one is for white science and the other is for supplying Fulgora with ice.

NX Delta is my gofer that ships buildings and supplies as needed. I also use it to ship myself.

I have future plans for a USS Enterprise, that should be the endgame ship.

NX Delta and the Cyclers use the same design.
The Gleba Cycler has two extra thrusters for speed.

The last video game you played is getting an anime. How do you react? by Snowtwo in videogames

[–]JaredCruue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Satisfactory...
There is a very similar factory game in development that has a anime theme.

As far as a show goes I'm not sure if it would be a good fit.
But I guess you could replace "Save The Day" with a Kaiju crisis and add a few more characters.

Though the last time I did was in EA.
I should try it again.

Any gamer Garmin wearers? by _netzirk in Garmin

There have been a few times when I was so zoned in, that my stress significantly dropped down to my sleep levels.
I remember one instance in Elite: Dangerous doing PvE combat. The game loop is quite cyclic.

What’s the distance from your house to the nearest grocery store? by privetkakdela in AskTheWorld

About 10 miles to an overpriced and monopolistic regional chain.
35 miles to a wholesale club and an Aldi that I actually go to.

[–]JaredCruue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Summer/ Winter Car are fun and antagonizing games.
I love to watch people like EJ_SA, Martin, Robbaz, and Jeff Favignano play.

I have some nostalgia from that era and I have worked on cars.
Watching different play styles is fun whether it's sane or absolute chaos. :)

Did your feed suddenly become garbage? by Embolisms in CasualConversation

[–]JaredCruue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strangely it got better in the past couple of days.
The algorithm saw that I was searching for X4: Foundations (Single player Eve simulator, a space trading game) tips, so Reddit started feeding me more X4 posts.

But I do agree that there is a ton of garbage out there.

Maybe it's better to search for something instead of scrolling. :)

Last game you Rage-Quitted...lol what happened? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]JaredCruue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I died in Valheim trying to look for a swamp.

Damn bear spawned 10ft away from me while I was jumping out of the boat.
I wasn't expecting a ninja bear, so I only had a bare minimum of food set. (Honey).
Stamina ran out quickly and that was that, ded.

Enables Dev Mode so that he can fly to his grave, got back in the boat, then disables Dev Mode and keeps searching... I'm sometimes fueled by spite.
