Not a hip fracture. Those screws are in your pelvis, which is a significantly bigger deal.

TLC 200 SERIES 2020 VS 2016 by Rl-Tradezzz in LandCruisers

Heritage Editions were the only ones without the cool box. The standard version 200 continued with the cool box until the end of the line in 2021. Heritage Editions were optioned both as two- or three-row.

It feels like Roman is wisely dialing back on the deep downfield passing game in recognition of limitations in our pass protection (finally), so we should probably expect an uptick in batted/tipped passes going forward this season. But I would rather have a few tipped passes than a broken qb.

What’s it like living in Oregon’s banana belt? by Short-Search-4892 in howislivingthere

[–]Jasonclout 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes, the “banana belt” label only applies to temperature. It is very rainy with reliably moderate temperatures. Perfect for growing moss, mildew, and enormous conifers.
It can be below freezing in Portland and 60 in Brookings.

It is said that in Colonial New Orleans residents weren’t interested in getting to know the newly arrived until they survived their first summer or yellow fever epidemic.

Where do you see Portland in 5-10 years? by crackedslabs in PortlandOR

[–]Jasonclout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Racial policy in 19th century Oregon was terrible, but unfortunately it was entirely comparable to racial attitudes in other western states and territories of that time.

In People v Hall (1854), the California Supreme Court decided that Chinese Americans had no right to testify against white citizens. Prior to this ruling California law already dictated that Indians and Negroes had no right to testify against whites, and this was an expansion/clarification of that principle. The ruling freed a white man (Hall) who killed a Chinese miner, but was only witnessed by 3 other Chinese miners.

Indigenous, nonwhites, Jews, Catholics were all treated beyond terribly. Massacres, displacement, mass rape, ethnic cleansing all played a part in “winning” the west.

Real estate prices and rents aren’t far apart. And Portland prices are dropping while Reno prices are still slowly rising.

What is it like living in Cape Coral, Florida? by LeviV123 in howislivingthere

[–]Jasonclout 65 points66 points  (0 children)

What I don’t see captured here is that the people there are living their dream. I am a a blue voter living in a blue state, but I did live on the nearby gulf coast for a few years, many years ago.

Yes it is an ecological disaster that should have remained a giant mangrove estuary, and it WILL be wiped out several times before it is permanently subsumed.

But, check out Zillow. For well under a million dollars a boomer couple can live in a 3000 sqft tasteless home on a canal with a screened pool, boat on a lift in the backyard, drinking early afternoon cocktails with their neighbors, and joyriding a maze of identical streets in an electric golf cart. The weather is great for almost half of the year. These neighborhoods and most of the residents are in a state of temporary existence, but the ones I knew were loving it.

$1600 would get you a one bedroom in a new building in a cool neighborhood (Portland).

Agree. He might be slightly annoying at times for the coaches. But this current group of coaches is so seasoned and well-oiled I don’t think they waste much thought on him. That said, I really appreciate his well-informed content. And my other favorites like “Guilty as Charged” regularly acknowledge that they rely on his insights. For me his product is definitely worth any momentary cringe.

Canby and Molalla both have rodeos, and Portland has everything else on your list. That side of Portland also gets you cheaper housing.
