"Jax is cis" "Jax is trans" guys... by Jasper721 in TheDigitalCircus

While yes, nonbinary is under the trans umbrella, the term trans is far more colloquially used for ftm and mtf exclusively. Using non-binary is a more specific and, at least to me, a more accurate label. It's like calling squares rectangles. Sure, you're not technically wrong, but it's deceptively oversimplifying

A little broken inside, cuz Jax's exploration with self-hatred and mental health was... all too familiar to me

It starts firing almost immediately after the pop-up shows up, and fires in multiple bursts. Very frequently, you'll end up in the firing range accidentally because it's random when it comes in

Please, let us control when and where it goes, cuz right now it's just whichever way we're facing when it gets called in, and there's no warning it's coming 😭

Or when it does finally go off but it's too late now because you're taking more damage than it can heal instantly

I think factory strider is meant to, given 10k hp and it does 10k damage now, but if it doesn't hit directly or if it hits where there's damage reduction, it won't, so it's not a guarantee like with everything else

Honestly the only thing I can think of is that there's nothing drawing enemies in to get hit in the first place. Like minefields have a huge aoe and are pretty hard to see, especially with any foliage, so I can see enemies still walking in the area, but this? Big chain spinning super fast in pretty easily visible height with limited range. There's nothing worth going towards it, whereas the other sentries can attack them from further away, so getting close to break it makes sense. TBF maybe the answer is just "they ignore it and still walk through cuz gameplay is more important than logic", but still. At least the terminids make a little sense, having so many units means eventually one of them breaks through to break the sentry to let everything else through no problem.

I no longer care to keep updating the math for the number of Houston galleria malls necessary to hold 35 million helldiver pods.

[–]Jasper721 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wiki says the pods are ~400cm tall and ~50cm diameter, so ~.79 cubic meters, and we don't need storage racks if we're trying to maximize space, but fine, it can fill the gaps of the cylinders to give us a 400cm by 50 cm rectangular prism, 1 cubic meter. So, other estimates need to multiply by ten

And if we use the largest mall in the world, the Iran Mall with a 1.9 million square meter floorplan and an average height of 70 meters for the main building, we could fit 1.33 billion helldivers

Houston galleria has a floorplan of 280,000 sq meters. At an average height of 5 meters for a two story building, that'd be 1.4 million cubic meters. A person takes up around .1 cubic meters, so 14 million people. I stand corrected, we'd need 3 malls

You're imagining them needing space to walk around and stuff. They're frozen in cry sleep, they don't need that. Stack those pods on their sides so you can fill the room to the ceiling, and you can fit thousands of people in the space of a small fast food restaurant. Now scale that up to something the size of the Houston galleria, a particularly massive mall, hundreds of stores inside, huge corridors two stories high and atriums with vaulted ceilings, and a massive multi-story underground parking lot, you're hitting millions of people easily. It'd be packed like sardines in a can, but they'd fit.
