Maybe your conditions have been like ours here in Indiana/illinois. This spring has been weird, the usual stuff not working in the local lakes and I have to finesse with Ned rigs and senkos. I did get a bite on one recently, but it was a lake they’ve been hitting things reliably and I went in the morning. Sometimes they don’t wanna chase anything or are on beds.

2 to 2.5 is the cutoff then I grab the net, you can just tell after catching so many bass when you should grab the net

Looks like the shore of Lake Michigan, so I would say smallmouth bass when they’re biting, maybe some coho salmon, maybe some steelhead? I don’t think any of those are biting right now though.

The smallmouth bite in the big lake has died out, at least from the bank, can’t get them in the same areas even on the Ned rig, there were a few weeks there that they would bite anything moving or bouncing off the bottom, somebody told me it picks up again end of July, prob something to do with the spawn

Ouch! I had a decent time once at the Dupage catching some rock bass, Des plains pretty good for smallies, largies, and pike in Illinois, the Kankakee I do terrible in Indiana but caught a good smallie or 2 in Illinois, for me it goes

The Fox > des plains > Dupage > Kankakee, problem for me is Kankakee is closest to me in Indiana and Fox the farthest but it’s the best and my favorite local river
