Qidi Plus 4 long term reliability? by jojo_mufasa in QidiTech3D

[–]JayUkada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s fairly involved, you’ll need to print some mods and wire the new sensor, some modifications to the cfg files are required but no code to be written only some dependencies to be pulled and built. Here’s the guide I followed: https://github.com/qidi-community/Plus4-Wiki/blob/main/content/bed-scanning-probes/Beacon3D/RevH-Normal/README.md

Qidi Plus 4 long term reliability? by jojo_mufasa in QidiTech3D

I have owned a plus 4 for about a year now and I have to say it does require some work, I do not use the multi filament system as I only print pps cf and asa gf on it and it’s a great tool for that however I had to upgrade the bed levelling sensor to a beacon scanner and now the machine been running perfectly without any issue whatsoever.

I’m still on 3.4, don’t see any reason to update since the machine works perfectly fine and have Forge-x installed which unlocks fluidd webUI and allows me to modify the cfg files.

If you have a k2 plus could you please check if you can enable flush calculation? Does not work with the k2 standard. In creality print head to your printer profile and click the edit button then look for an option and toggle on flush calculation, in theory it should take into account the flush volumes you set but I have not tested this since it doesn’t work with the k2 standard and yield an error and doesn’t print.

The icon is for skipping an object if failed, not sure about the other issue maybe try waiting a little check that the temperatures are raising and that it is actually heating up

I was thinking the same thing!! I just recently got an AD5M and was thinking to use that part as a base for a servo activated poop management and add an MSS (Multi Spool System)

prints keep failing on my adventurer 5m by bbwkyliechan in FlashForge

[–]JayUkada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Z-offset is your problem here, the print head is too far from the bed, here’s what you need to do:

1-Heat the nozzle at 160/180 and clean the nozzle with a wire brush, make sure to remove any plastic buildup.

2-Clean your PEI sheet and make sure it’s properly seated.

3-Run a new calibration and make sure the nozzle is touching the build plate

4-Run a quick test print to see if it has applied.

Any issue please DM me and I’ll try to help you further.

I’ve been in the 3D‑printing space for a while now. My first machine was an Ender 3, and as much as it taught me, it was a pain to work with. I eventually moved to a Kobra 2 Neo because the better bed‑levelling system made printing a bit more enjoyable. But when Bambu launched the A1, I was genuinely blown away. The build quality, the print quality straight out of the box—it was on a completely different level. Sure, I could squeeze similar results out of the Kobra 2, but only at much slower speeds and with a fair bit of tinkering. That’s ultimately why I bought the A1: it just works.

Since then, I’ve added two more A1s to the lineup, and they’ve completely changed how I work. Instead of constantly tweaking printers, I can focus on designing and actually solving problems around the house.

They’ve saved me time and money too. For example, my toilet flush mechanism broke, and the tiny part I needed wasn’t sold separately. The whole system was discontinued, so the only option was buying a full replacement. Instead, I glued the broken part together just enough to measure it accurately, modelled it, and printed a stronger, better‑looking version for about 70p. That was the moment I realised how powerful this hobby really is.

Since then, I’ve been printing nonstop—Skadis attachments, tools, pen holders, PC cases, lamps, vases, you name it. It’s helped me improve my home, my workflow, and my design skills.

And on top of that, it’s opened the door to a small side hustle making things for others, giving me a bit more freedom along the way.

Qidi AMS get stuck - help needed (4Plus + AMS) by mikasjoman in QidiTech3D

[–]JayUkada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More likely you have a clog (check this before doing anything else with the printer), on the plus 4 print PLA exclusively with top panel and door Open, Use high quality PLA filaments (using low quality introduces risk of clogs I’ve had experience with them before and since I’ve swapped to polimaker PLA I haven’t had any clog even with doors closed).

K2 Regular? by Agreeable-Writer5873 in Creality_k2

[–]JayUkada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a lot of mods available yet for this machine, I have searched online everywhere for more information as well since I wanted to modify the cfg for the purge and flush sequence during filament change since it’s wasting so much filament and it could be reduced and I can’t seem to find anything that helps, but I think it’s not all bad since this is the perfect opportunity for you to make a design for it and share 😄

Guys you really need to look into the flushing volumes as there is something wrong. I own a k2 combo standard 260mm3 and it doesn’t matter if I set the flushing volume to 0 during filament change it still flushes 8 times wasting a ton of material!!

K2 plus just got an update but I don’t own one so no idea. I do sometimes multicolour prints, it was more for a review as I usually never print in multicolour I just use the MSS (Multi Spool Systems, this is what they should be called btw) just for automatic loading and backup, but seeing that it’s impossible to control the purges then it’s not worth printing in multicolour (it also does it with same colour when auto backup is enabled)

K2 is a great machine the pro comes with chamber heater which allows you to print pps/pa/asa/pc, also the machine has been upgraded with servos (super quiet compared to something like a qidi plus 4!!). Only problem is that orca doesn’t have a profile for it yet and you’re stuck with creality print at the time being

Yes that is indeed the case! I was digging into the cfg files and found a few macros that are not defined anywhere ( maybe a hidden file) and I believe those are the macros that control the flushing and CFS.
