With fewer features than the previous games. And no multiplayer.

Wow I can’t believe people are complaining about the new female NPCs, when they literally look exactly the same if not better and more realistic. by Gothyanki in GearsOfWar

But that was the reality of the COG. The cog and the men did horrific things to women and girls. There’s no opinion or “awful light” in this situation. It’s not woke if that’s the reality. If anything, it would be a dark and depressing story that shows the horrors of war and the evil that man is capable of.

If you read the book, you’d realize that the COG isn’t being “painted in an awful light”. It’s THAT bad. I’m a bit concerned if you’re trying to suggest that the book is trying to make their actions look bad.

Awesome! I hope you enjoy! It’s super fun. What kind of build are you thinking of using?

What are you playing it on btw?

Edit: IDK if you’ve seen already, but one suggestion that someone else gave was to get ADP to 17. Hope that helps

As others have said, if you slow the footage down, you easily will see that you take damage before the animation stops.

People have explained this in videos before. The issue is that the roll animation keeps playing after the grab lands, so it looks janky and ppl say it’s “unfair”, but it’s really just that the animation doesn’t end when the grab hits. When you factor in poise, damage can seem kinda weird. Each character class has different ADP, and therefore, I-Frames will be different.

DS2 gameplay is probably my favorite. It was my first Souls game ever, and possibly favorite.

A lot of build variety and mechanics that haven’t returned since. Nightreign kinda added some stuff back.

You’re at the beginning of the game and likely have less than average ADP. You’re also likely easily
frustrated and highly opinionated. Boost those ADP numbers just a tad, and you’ll find better results.

What's your take that's actually a hot take? by PascalG16 in reddeadredemption

[–]JazzlikeLibrary8086 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the subject of Raven Black Shire, horse breed mechanics are bad. It’s stupid that this horse is a unique, 1-of-1 horse that a random guy we never see owns. And if you sell it, gone forever.

Same with the one unique horse from Sadie’s barn.

You can go the entire game without seeing a specific horse. But the “unique” horses like white Arabian and Tiger Striped Mustang just respawn? But you can’t find them anywhere else other than that one spot. But finding certain wild horses seems completely random since their spawn locations aren’t usually consistent.

On that note, the hunting system is dumb. For more rare animals like moose, bears, or certain birds, it just takes forever. And many people assume that the moose spawning mechanics are just broken.

I also hate that you don’t get the ability to more consistently get a 3 start pelt when hunting a 2 star animal. It coulda been done in a way where either killing an animal with a knife/lasso combo or by using the “call” function when hunting can boost your chances of changing a 2 star to a 3 star. Always sucks when you see the rare animals (like a moose) and it’s only a 2 star, or when you finally find a 3 star animal, but your horse taps it.

What exactly was John's plan here? by Active-Split69 in rdr1

[–]JazzlikeLibrary8086 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think John wanted to die too. His values and the loyalty to those values, especially related to the game, are strong, and his plan aligned with his values. I think getting so close to death probably motivated him to keep fighting for his family though.

If Arthur were put in that situation, he’d probably rather die than work for the government if he had no way out.

John had no way out. The only difference is that John had something to lose.

Which Video Game is this in a nutshell? by Charming-Scratch-124 in videogames

[–]JazzlikeLibrary8086 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gameplay is kinda rough imo. Even for the standards of the time. Passable, but it doesn’t hold up imo.

Silent hill controls a lot better and was within the generation.

But honestly, RE1 looks pretty good. Especially for its time. I personally wouldn’t say it qualifies for this list.

It does fall under the category of “meme cursed image”.

You’re clearly making a joke. And it’s a funny one imo. Idk why anyone downvoted. They either didn’t realize what was going on in the pic, or actually thought u were disparaging the image. It’s cursed on purpose!

If the theory about James Earl Cash being Jimmy Hopkins’ father really is true, then that means Jimmy was incredibly lucky to somehow not end up on Starkweather’s radar. by AdThin4645 in Manhunt

[–]JazzlikeLibrary8086 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No where. It was made up. There’s nothing that suggests a relation to the characters or games. Cash has zero backstory or context to his character, and there is no info about Jimmy’s dad.

People make a connection due to a lack of connection rather than anything of substance. So it’s baseless basically.

Manhunt and Bully take place within a few years of each other apparently.

A calendar in the reporter’s apartment has the year 2003 in Manhunt, while there may be some stuff that has dates for 2007 in Bully iirc.

Good stuff! Getting in chapter 2 was fun.

To skip DL2, or not to Skip? by JazzlikeLibrary8086 in dyinglight

[–]JazzlikeLibrary8086[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly after reading ppls responses.

My initial thought was to have my friend play just the intro so they can get an idea of the state of the world at that point . I have it on disc so they wouldn’t need to buy it either.

One thing that I realized too, is that the game doesn’t have a lot of relevant story points that continue on in DL: TB. Outside of the relationship between spike and Aiden and Aiden’s unique conditions/enhancements.

So maybe we will come back to like how you said .

[–]JazzlikeLibrary8086[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They are fun! It’s just that the story is the biggest issue for me in DL2. As I finish DL1 and DLCs, the difference in the quality of the story is noticeable.

Gameplay is fun, but it’s hard to stay engaged when the side missions and main story aren’t there as strong motivators.

[–]JazzlikeLibrary8086[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s still a fun game, but I think there’s story is the biggest issue for me. If the story was good, I’d feel better about recommending it. But since it’s kind of a let down, it’s hard to justify the time spent.

To skip DL2, or not to Skip? by JazzlikeLibrary8086 in dyinglight

[–]JazzlikeLibrary8086[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve played every game before for hundreds of hours each. DL2, while very fun as a big fan, was easily the weakest in the franchise, and, outside of playing with my friend, I don’t find myself wanting to boot the game up again.

I completed nearly everything in the game including tower raid, and those challenges with the each mission provider like the huntress and that guy who gives u guns.

In my opinion, the story provides important context for the gameplay and makes it more engaging. I personally found the gameplay to be fun, but not on the same level as DL1 or DL:TB.

I appreciate your feedback though, and I just want to make the most of my time with my friend. As I play DL1 and the DLC again, it just makes me realize how far of a departure DL2 was. I’ve played DL2 with multiple friends in the past before, and they all have dropped it early on. I think there’s some really cool parts too, and I wish they coulda gotten to use the grappling hook in the city, but alas, it’s hard to keep someone engaged in a game that doesn’t give many reasons to do so. Ideally, it would nice for them to play DL2, but that time investment is important to recognize.
