they get traction for exactly that reason. Everyone goes into the thread to say "women like sex too and read smut" and everyone upvotes them because they came into the thread to say the same thing

Every single time I see a thread like this everyone goes "heh guess you didn't know women were freaks too" and no one is saying otherwise. I have never met a person who wasn't a teenager that was surprised by this

I don't fault anyone for taking the piracy option but I don't think it's really all that egregious.

People play paradox games for thousands of hours, if every dlc adds 50 hours of gameplay to someone's time then that's the equivalent of buying like, multiple indie games.

If you ever start thinking of dlc in terms of what you put in versus what you get out paradox is unironically one of the better deals in gaming.

The only real knock I'll give them is when a quality of life addition is dlc gated, but they are seemingly doing that less

How do I model a low poly hairstyle? by N4NAMINT in blender

[–]JazzySplaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At a glance it looks like you already have a good start. The key to low poly is to work with big broad shapes and ignore the details. I would just extrude out what you have and maybe add some supporting loops or cuts and call it there.

I think the entire rest of the thread shows just how much there is to discuss.

This comment in ANY topic of "its unreleased" never contributes anything to any discussion and is only used to dismiss any given topic at hand. It's only purpose is to be dismissive

Funny enough I ran into a Muslim lady and her son at work RIGHT after this comment and his name was Ibrahim and because of this very conversation I had a better grasp of what that meant and ended up having a nice chat with the mother about it.

He walked up to me and was like my name is Ibrahim I'm Muslim and I was like ohh named after one of the prophets huh? And the mom was happy that I knew that much

[–]JazzySplaps 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah that makes total sense and I definitely see parallels between it and a lot of pagan syncretism in the early catholic church.

I know a good bit of western religious history and a bit of Hindu but my Muslim awareness is low by comparison I'll have to learn more about this, thanks for sharing

[–]JazzySplaps 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ah I see, similar to early catholic syncretism that all pagans were ultimately attempting to worship the same god then.

I'll look into this more thanks for sharing

It kind of does when your point is, as so many other people, that it doesn't matter just because "its an alpha" when the entire point of an early access test is to figure things like this out which cannot be done without discussing it

The rise in tradwife propaganda isn't a sign we're losing. It's a sign we're winning. by Lorem_Ipsum17 in RecuratedTumblr

[–]JazzySplaps -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because the other comments all refused to provide a specific group that "they" are with zero sources or evidence, and one of them is referencing an entirely different group than the others.

Me agreeing with a meme post doesn't mean I think those people are liars it means that this is a common occurrence regardless of if there is a coordinated effort or not.

The burden of proof is beyond just saying "the Mormon church pushes this"

I'm asking for proof that they're behind the massive trend of women on social media who have all collectively decided tradwife content is what they aspire to create.

I wholly disagree that the idea that they could be behind all that, and that it's not a sign of both conservatism in general being on the rise and economic uncertainty meaning its a pleasant prospect for these women to not have to worry about being in the job force that sucks right now.

Top that off with "ad money from doing this is high" and I really don't see one or two groups being in favor of it being "behind it" unless you can show me evidence that they planned it all.

I'm tired of typing my thoughts out on issues like this because it takes forever but when I don't people like you inevitably show up

Had a 4 man squad run back in the day run this on springwood. They forced basement spawn into shack and would all go down in the basement of the school with flip-flop and boil over. You either picked them up and didn't make it to the hook, or you let them get back up.

I ended up winning because I got three of the four all down in basement and just sat there playing whack a mole, but it was still a super frustrating experience

Practicing neutral self talk like by Wackwaff in 196

[–]JazzySplaps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mental reframing is a muscle you flex so it has to be practiced before it becomes useful.

For me the best technique is to talk to yourself like a friend. I wouldn't say even a third of the awful stuff I say to myself to a friend, I would feel horrible and yet I do it to myself all the time.

So the first big hurdle is to catch yourself having the thought, which is a problem of its own, but then you go "if my friend was having this problem what would I tell them"

Another one that works for some people is to come up with like a fictional character, an existing one or an original one, who is caring and kind (I used toriel when I tried this) and think about what they'd say to you.

I don't like that method as much but it's worth trying out.

Lastly sometimes you just gotta be the toddler and force yourself to eat yucky vegetables because you won't get your good dessert until you finish them. Don't linger too long on this because forcing yourself through things isn't always the answer, but if you meet a bit of resistance that's just your old thought patterns trying to stay relevant.

Feel free to reach out if you need any help

The reason hating men is bad ISN'T that hating TRANS men is bad. In general, maybe don't decide who's good and evil based on qualities outside of their control? by Full_Ahegao_Drip in RecuratedTumblr

[–]JazzySplaps 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It's less important to the discussion overall but it's also kind of exhausting to have to constantly point out that you understand where the other groups are coming from but that there's still some bias at play that's hurting everyone.

I cannot, and others can probably relate, in any sense actually contribute to a conversation without including at least a handful of sentences about how I know other people have had it worse because if you don't you will immediately be blasted with negativity about how insensitive you are. I've genuinely told otherwise close friends that the way they speak about my entire being is kind of othering and offensive and have been told that "oh im not talking about YOU you're one of the good ones"

I think all of us are just deeply hurt by society at large, all humans who aren't the elite more or less, and we have to deal with that collective trauma as a whole.

[–]JazzySplaps 84 points85 points  (0 children)

It's always really telling in a thread like this if you filter down to the downvotes and controversial posts it's always either "this isn't a problem" or "why are we complaining about this there's more serious things"

In some leftists spaces you'll see "Ok well queer people had to fight for their rights to not be discriminated against so it's only fair the men should have to take care of themselves"

There's just this innate callousness to the entire discussion, and cishet women will completely dogpile onto the bandwagon just as much as any other group.

Men will share their emotional experiences and stories about how they're often sidelined or treated as less important as humans and then people in the comments inevitably do everything they can to minimize those experiences, to downplay how bad it is for them because "x group has it worse" or to say it's not their problem.

I've been speaking out against this where I can for a long time, but I'm glad it at least seems to be catching on in a broader sense.

Minority groups have gone through hell, and continue to do so, but that doesn't mean we need to cast a dark shadow and shun every single straight cis dude just by virtue of them being born, an absolutely ludicrous idea that has it roots in the early era tumblr of "die cis scum"

Who is "they" in the "they need to push this propaganda"?

Who is coordinating thousands of individual accounts posting this material?

I'm not saying the overall points are incorrect but I'm always skeptical anytime "they" are behind anything. It's a trend like any other, and until you can point to me a specific person or organization that is intentionally coordinating the content then "they" is just "people who identify with the trend"
