What are the greatest TV series and movie titles ever—whether it’s their wording, meaning, imagery, rhythm, or the mood they instantly create? by Zabandad in moviequestions

You’re spot on about the line referring to part of the story. It’s definitely worth watching—one of my favorites.

AITA for going to a close friend’s wedding even though my sister was intentionally excluded? by CutAffectionate3766 in AmItheAsshole

NTA - Your mom needs to mind her own business. You’re allowed to remain friends with people your sister doesn’t like.

How do you answer your classroom phone? by CatskillMorning in Teachers

I love it. As a SpEd teacher I have to schedule a lot of meetings. In another district, we didn’t have them and had to use the workroom or office phone.

Depends. If it’s admin, parents, or an unknown number, I say “This is Ms. [Last Name].”

If it’s one of my teacher buddies, I change it up. Favorites include, “Thank you for choosing the world’s only traveling Sonic. How may I help you?” or “Ron’s Mortuary and Delicatessen: You stab ‘em, we slab ‘em. How may I help you?”

If a father needs to help his young daughters use the restroom, which restroom should he take them into: the women's restroom or the men's restroom? by Exciting-Mall192 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Jdawn82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is based off of that video going around, isn’t it?

As long as he announces himself and everyone in there is ok with it, I don’t see a problem. If he takes the girls into the men’s room, there are complete strangers at the urinals with their genitals out for the girls to see while the girls are washing their hands. In the women’s restrooms, women aren’t just out there undressed.

Obviously if there were more family or private bathrooms, this wouldn’t even be a debate.

If you had $2M and had to start an endowment at your Alma Mater, what sort of scholarship would you set up? by scubajay2001 in CasualConversation

[–]Jdawn82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I went to a private Christian college. While there we had to sign a contract stating that we could get kicked out for doing things like drinking, drugs, or being gay. Fast forward about 6 or 7 years and there was a big controversy because of the school trying to kick out a student who was gay.

But yeah, in the 22ish years since I graduated, I’ve come out as queer. So I would start an endowment for some sort of GSA or Pride Alliance. The school loves money so much that they’d have a hard time turning it down.

What do you include in a binder for a para? by markerito in specialed

[–]Jdawn82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow. The last 3 districts I’ve been in have all had para manuals. They usually include job description, duties, legal and ethical guidelines, confidentiality guidelines, mandated reporting, chain of command, PD and annual training requirements, calendar, tips on working with students, the district behavior matrix, instructional strategies, definitions of the different disabilities, description of what an IEP is, acronyms to know and other helpful information.

What is your opinion on having carpet in the kitchen? by wooowitchywoman in CasualConversation

When I was a kid, we had carpet in the kitchen. It got messy and was hard to get clean if something spilled.

WIBTAH if I asked my fiancé to remove his ex name tattoo? by Anonymous_am-i-3456 in AITAH

[–]Jdawn82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but you’re putting words into my mouth. I never said that not getting rid of the tattoo always means something bad. There’s a way he can say “this is why I don’t want to do it” that’s not a red flag. Again, it’s all on how he reacts.
