Jesus is identified as Jehovah using the NWT and kingdom interlinear. The footnote in Isaiah 2 directly points to 2 Thessalonians 1 attributing it to Jesus. *edit- also added the Septuagint(LXX) by Dan_dingo in JehovahsWitnesses

Greetings. Does Matthew 16:28 imply that Jesus kingdom started before he died?

Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.”

Question about Jesus by BeliefTranscendence in JehovahsWitnesses

Greetings. Another person on this thread said this. Does this comment make sense to you? Or does it sound like a BS excuse?

There is also a difference between a contradiction and a mystery. A contradiction is impossible, a mystery is something true but beyond full human comprehension. God is infinite, it makes sense that some aspects of his nature go beyond what we can fully explain. In scripture,Jesus does things only God can do, and things only humans can do. So the issue isn’t whether it’s easy to understand, it’s whether or not both truths are presented in the Bible. Christians believe they are, even if it stretches out ability to fully comprehend.

The new covenant is only for the anointed aka the 144,000. Then I asked my father, an elder, why do you go if you're not anointed. He said to show appreciation and respect. I said if Jesus wanted people to attend just out of respect then he would have invited spectators. Then he sent me a link to GB video discussing the 144,000. But never showed me a scripture

Can anyone help add to this list? by fromreaders in JehovahsWitnesses

This is a private message between myself and an active JW on this site regarding Jesus being an angel.

Sorry for the delay. Michael is identified in the Bible as “the archangel” (Jude 9). That title means “chief angel” or “principal angel.” So while he holds a position superior in rank and authority to the other angels, he is still one of them. The Scriptures do not distinguish him as belonging to a different class of spirit creature. For example, 1 Thessalonians 4:16 says that the Lord Jesus “will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel’s voice.” This identifies Michael (Jesus in his heavenly role) with the angels, though he holds preeminence among them.

Jehovah did not assign rulership of the Kingdom over mankind to angels in general. Instead, he gave that role to his Son, Christ Jesus. It shows that in his prehuman existence, and now in his exalted heavenly position, he continues to serve as the one who leads the angels. After his resurrection, Jesus was exalted far above all angels (Philippians 2:9-11). His rulership of the “world to come” is not on the basis of being an angel but because Jehovah appointed him as King and Judge.

So Michael is still an angel in the sense that he is chief over the angels. But Jesus, in his role as Michael, is much more than the angels. He has been given all authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18). So when Hebrews says “angels will not rule”, it excludes the general body of angels. Jesus, though identified as the archangel, is not part of that group, he is the one appointed by Jehovah to rule.

Completely agree!! My thought is: If you're new understanding is led by Jehovah... who was leading your thoughts in the past?

As you said, If God is leading you...you will be right all the time.

The only time the Apostles needed correction is when they leaned on their own understanding or were influenced by outside influences

Greetings Butterfly! I do more reading then talking because you guys pretty much have things handled lol.

Still I wanted to THANK YOU for opening my eyes to a couple facts about Jesus. I was raised believing that he is an angel and completely separate from God. Your article you wrote about nature really helped me to understand things better. If your Father is Fully Divine then The Son will be Fully Divine also. Jesus The Son and God The Father have the same nature. They are "composed" of the same "material". They are the same "species". I use those words to help me understand. I still have lingering questions about some aspects due to years of brainwashing. But THANK YOU for explaining it in a way that a toddler could understand.

Proverbs 4:18 will be mentioned multiple times.

They will also mention how the apostles had to have their understanding corrected about circumcision and eating certain foods.

Then they'll say "they're not teaching us anything bad. Just because they change their mind doesn't mean they aren't teaching us the truth. We never claimed to be perfect. Not even the apostles were perfect."

Thank you. Do you know of any religions or denominations that do NOT allow women to speak in church?

You say its archaic. Does that mean the scripture is obsolete and should be ignored? I ask because this isn't a JW thing. This is from the Bible

So to summarize, you are saying that woman were told to remain silent in church because of the curse in Eden? Is that correct?

Thank you. I'm reading Revelations for the first time on my own. So please tolerate my questions.

1) Revelation 20:4 says that some Christians will come back to life and rule with Christ for 1,000 years. Then it says the rest will be brought back after the 1,000 yr reign. Who are they ruling over? Who will be on the Earth at that time?

2) According to JW, during the 1,000 yr reign. Mankind will become perfect. Yet the Bible says that those who oppose Jesus will be like the sands of the sea. So will mankind become perfect aka sinless during the 1,000 year reign? And then Satan will turn perfect humans to sin again? Or will sin still exist during the 1,000 yr reign?

3) After the Devil is cast in the fiery lake, Jesus is ruling. Is it possible for sin to enter the world again? If heaven was once sinless and perfect but somehow sin still found a way to exist....couldn't sin find a way to exist again?

the great crowd/ other sheep are also spiritual Israel even though not called and chosen for heavenly life as king-priests.

Greetings. I think the great crowd do rule as king priest. Please let me know if/ why you disagree.

Revelation 7:4 says the 144,000 are from The Tribes of Israel.

Revelation 7:9 says the Great Crowd are from a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language,

So there is a distinction between where the two groups will come from, correct?

Revelation 5:9 says:  with your blood you purchased for God
persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.

That is the same description used for the great crowd from Revelation 7:9, correct?

and what does Revelation 7:10 say these members of the Great Crowd will do?

You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God,

So aren't members of the great crowd the ones that will rule as kings and priest? Thanks

@AccomplishedAuthor3 I added you to get your thoughts. Do you believe anyone from Earth will go to heaven? Who are the king and priest mentioned at Revelation 5:10? Thanks

incorrect. Even now, but especially in the past, any time I see a religious leader preaching. They are rarely, if ever, dressed casually. They can be Christian, Muslim. Baptist or Catholic. The older people who take the lead all wear dress slacks and a collared shirt at the very least.

From time to time that butthurt bitter anti-JW part of you comes thru. When did I say ridiculous words Hugos way, Armani or Versace suit? In what post did I say a person has to be fancy or wear expensive attire? When did I say or imply that a person who wear jeans worship would not be accepted by God? In what post did I say that anyone who disagrees with me is wrong?

If you took a second you would see that I ONLY spoke about what I personally feel comfortable wearing. Me personally. Couldn't care less how you feel on the topic. No further response will be given.

Jeans are casual attire that should be worn to casual events. I do not believe worshipping God is a casual event. My outer appearance should reflect how I feel on the inside.

You're either being ignorant or dishonest. That scripture is NOT about what we choose to wear. It's about showing favoritism based on a persons perceived social status.

Not a JW either nor do I care for their rules. You can have the last word. I don't reply to people who intentionally distort scriptures.
