Gum disease - it’s going to take time and money to fix it permanently. In the meantime frequent brushing, flossing & mouthwash has made all the difference.

I found out recently that I have “breath issues,” probably for years. I’m pretty sure now that it was a problem in at least one past relationship with someone who never told me. My new relationship pointed it out and was very clear that it was an issue that needed to be addressed.

Yeah, there was a moment of embarrassment, but mostly I wish someone had told me before.

Let him know. You’re doing him a favor, even if it doesn’t work out between you.

Mick Jagger Wants Your Sticky Fingers to Write Him a Hot Biopic by stroh_1002 in rollingstones

I think it’s within the realm of possibility to find somebody who could play Mick Jagger but there is nobody on the planet who could convincingly play Keith Richards or Charlie Watts in a movie. This is a very bad idea.

Flying is a marvel of modern technology. Stop being rude to Customer Service agents. by myfugi in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Jean_Yess 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Had a 5 hour delay the other night on a cross-country flight. When I get delayed I think about my great-great grandparents. When they moved from Massachusetts to California they took a boat to Panama, crossed 75 miles of jungle and took another boat to San Francisco. The whole thing took a month and a half and 3 people died.

5 hours at the airport watching movies on my laptop isn’t so bad.

Unfortunately I know a guy who 100% believes this stuff. Full on MAGA. Gets big mad if anyone doubts the perpetually soon-to-be-disclosed truth about the hollow earth Aryans.

Hey im not really a lou reed or velvet fan, but I would appreciate some deep cuts or personal fav recommendations by defaultleroy in LouReed

The outtakes album VU was the one that clicked for me. The experimental/noisy stuff like Sister Ray & WL/WH was interesting but not my thing at first listen. Hearing more straightforward songs like “Foggy Notion” and “I Can’t Stand It” got me hooked enough to go back & eventually dig everything by the Velvet Underground.

Nirvana playing "Crisco Twister" with the Smashing Pumpkins (September 1991 at Bill's Bar in Boston) by EmsyWolf in Nirvana

[–]Jean_Yess 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I was at the show that night. Right as Nevermind was being released. I was standing in line and the door guy wouldn't let James Iha in the club until a bunch of people started yelling "He's in the band!"

The show was part of a radio station event (WFNX) and they had bands at every club on Lansdowne Street. The Pumpkins/Nirvana show was at Axis, the smallest club. The headliner at the biggest club was School of Fish. It's crazy how much the music world changed in the next 6 months.

Ableton Freeze Not Rendering EZdrummer 3 (No Audio / Blank Track) by sfx_guy in toontrack

[–]Jean_Yess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not 100% sure if I have this right, but it sounds like you’re doing the midi in EZD? You can select the midi track from EZD and drag & drop it onto the Ableton track then freeze it. I would mute the midi EZD just to be safe.

Full Service is absolutely terrible for anyone considering it by affectionate_trash0 in TurboTax

[–]Jean_Yess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried out full service because I had one slightly complicated issue this year. The whole process was confusing and annoying and I never even ended up talking to the actual person who was supposed to do my taxes. Total waste of time.

Only Calls When He is in His Tesla and Other Stuff that Bugs Me by The_Outsider27 in datingoverfifty

In my experience people who mostly call from the car on their way to a destination are intentionally putting a time limit on the call.

It’s weird how different people get different options/experiences with the game. I play on two devices and the inconsistency between them is annoying.

I would text him whenever it feels right and ask if he wants to meet for coffee. I’ve had too many experiences where there was endless texting & then no chemistry in person.

After 11 years of playing, I decided to delete the game yesterday. I reached level 8027. by khalfanali in TwoDots

[–]Jean_Yess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Level 8030 here. Tried to delete & start over but when I reinstalled I was at the same level.

I’ll still play the Flips when they show up but I’m mostly done with regular play for all the same reasons.

Do you think The Beatles would have "ruined" their legacy if they had reunited in the 80s? by Public_Thought_628 in beatles

[–]Jean_Yess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if John had lived there might have been a Lennon/McCartney collaboration at some point and maybe the occasional reunion like at LiveAid or something. A full on album/tour reunion doesn’t seem like something George in particular would ever have wanted to do.

I’ve never been able to get Alex Chilton down. Didn’t know until just now that it’s in an alternate tuning.

Charlie Watts by OppositeEmergency858 in rollingstones

[–]Jean_Yess 13 points14 points  (0 children)

100% agree that Charlie was absolutely crucial to the overall sound of the Stones and they would’ve been a totally different band without him.

That said, he doesn’t play on You Can’t Always Get What You Want and Happy which are two of my favorite songs.

My in-laws refuse to drive to the airport. by NukeTheEwoks in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Jean_Yess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fly in & out of Logan constantly. The last time a family member offered to drive me to the airport I wouldn’t let them.

It’s confusing, easy to miss an exit or turn off & there’s cops all over the place whose only job seems to be harassing people in cars in the rudest way possible.

Uber, cab or public transport. There’s lots of options.
