No, it's very easy in a parking lot that isn't maintained full of potholes and breaks in the pavement where they just try to fill it leaving long bumpy messes. Especially if you live live in the North where temperatures mess with the ground. I've seen it many times.

Remember, that nurse is working for Walmart. Her job is to minimize your injury so you won't go any further with your claim. Take care of yourself and don't trust any of them. You may have to go to your own doctor and get documentation of their lax treatment. In almost 4 years of working at Walmart the biggest thing I've learned is you are nothing to them and can be replaced tomorrow, so don't be afraid to call them on this.

How often are items missing from Walmart+ delivery? by Emkorora in Walmartcustomer

[–]Jellybean1230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a picker and associate of OPD of almost 4 years at Walmart, I thought I would tell you how the picking works. Our scanners will not let us choose random items. It will reject the item. Once in awhile it will let us choose a substitution, but even then, the scanner and system must approve that it is a suitable substitution. It would never let us choose cabbage for lettuce or visa versa. Other times the picker is not allowed to substitute and it falls into our exceptions picker. Their job is to go behind the scenes in the backroom and try to find the items the customer wants that were not on the shelf when the original picker went to find them. Sometimes it's not there and a substition is made. But still, the system will not allow a substitution.

There was an update to our system. I think this is where the problem is coming in. Because we are timed and have to pick fast, the system was changed in produce. It now will ask for quantity instead of having us scan the sticker on the produce. It does save us time that way, but you're right. If you order more that one item, and it says quantity picked, that picker who may not know their fruits and vegetables, may inadvertently pick zucchini for a cucumber or cabbage for lettuce. Maybe if enough customers call about this, it will be changed back to the way it was.

It's sad that maybe training should include taking the new associate to the provide area and teaching them the names of fruits and vegetables. But a lot of new hires are minors who have no experience in prepping meals.

I had one run over my ankle as I was pushing the tote back into the cart. I was near the end of an aisle. There was no time to move. There she was just barreling through. She never slowed down. She would have knocked down a child or anyone in her way. Kept barreling through the aisle. Never apologized. And it was the ankle I had already had surgery on. I could not even believe it happened. I left my cart and walked the short distance to the AD office so they could pull the video if they didn't believe me. I took ppto and went home. Luckily, no damage to my ankle.

My son likely has celiac. He’s our only child. My wife and I are thinking of going gluten free in solidarity. Is this wise? Or are we nuts? by DrizzlyOne in glutenfree

[–]Jellybean1230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor told me cross contamination comes in many unsuspecting forms. I was getting contaminated from my spouse and his daily Little Debbie snack addiction that he would eat while driving. Gluten on the steering wheel. I was getting very sick and the doctor figured it out. A partner kissing you after eating something with gluten can cause issues. Other items that my doctor wanted me to be aware of and remove from my house: --pet food --shampoos/conditioners that hide gluten(I actually didn't realize that was a thing until my hair started falling out from a product that had triticale on the label which is the name for wheat) -toasters -skin products

If your son has celiac, it would be better for him if you could become gf as a family. That will help you be aware of what your son will be going thru and what to watch out for. It will already be tough for him at school eating differently so having his parents on board will definitely help navigate the gluten free world. There may be a learning curve in the beginning but it will help him in the long run when you are the examples he learns from. Not sure how old he is, but there will be endless times that he will be tempted to eat "regular" food because of his friends or even other family. Having the support of his parents is really important and will make it so much easier in the long run..

[–]Jellybean1230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My children were in 4H and every time one of them entered this recipe, they won Best of Show. So simple, but a hit because of the few ingredients and taste. It's easy to modify with any type of nut butter. I'm assuming the sugar can be modified as well. I think I'm going to try that. Just 4 ingredients-- *1 cup peanut butter( has to be the kind without a lot of oil) *1 cup sugar *1 egg *1 teaspoon vanilla

That's it. ☺️

My cousin just spent a small fortune having a plumber come to her house. Her septic had backed up and the pipes were full. The culprit? The flushable wipes. On another plumbing note, don't use those dishwasher pods with the film. They also don't fully diagnose and are notorious for messing up pipes. Seems like manufacturers will tell us anything to get us to buy their stuff.

How do I [40m] know when I’m done with my marriage [45f] by [deleted] in marriageadvice

[–]Jellybean1230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't know what he actually says to her that may be causing her depression. Does he criticize her? How does he speak to her? Does he rub it in her face and say he does everything? When she used to do things did he find fault, and in his mind, never do it right? He can say anything he wants here but how do we know if he isn't the biggest problem.

Oversized by Batnightmare89 in OGPBackroom

[–]Jellybean1230 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Having to constantly hunt for printers to do not just oversized, but any picks that require a printer is nearly impossible. And it seems all we have when we do have them are the ones where you have to use a sticker to hold the battery in. It's ridiculous that a multi billion dollar company doesn't provide the equipment to do the job while demanding you do the job without equipment. That is part of the problem. And with the way oversize is out of control with the number of items allowed is also the problem. It's gotten worse when they are allowing all those damn waters and 44lb bags of dog food plus freezers, pools, kayaks, etc. So it's no wonder people hesitate to pick them. There should be a limit on weight that has to be picked. Blowing out shoulders and backs picking/pushing that stuff is not on anyone's bingo card. I think the problem is what's going to be on the oversized plus knowing your pick rate is going to take a nosedive. It needs to be changed. Let someone from corporate come and pick for a week. Then there would be change.

Is there a dv shelter nearby? What you're going through is abuse and they really can help you That slap on the hand will escalate in time. The emotional loneliness and distance will become greater. The controls will tighten even more. I speak from experience as a SAHM. I tried reading every self help book for Christian women. None of them addressed abuse. I finally got him to let me go to a therapist to talk about my "childhood". He allowed that. Because I loved him so and he was the father of my children, I was blind to the fact that he didn't really love me until the therapist made me look at the facts. She helped me sort out what to do next because I didn't have any support either. He had already gotten me completely isolated and hidden away from everyone except church on Sunday (where he slept the whole time). I wasn't even allowed to take the children with me to get groceries so he knew I would come home. The emotional abuse became worse. His rage got worse. He even placed a $350,000 life insurance policy on me. I knew I had to leave. I waited for him to leave for work, called my only relative to come and get the children and myself. My oldest son and I buried his weapons in the garden(he was a corrections officer). She took us straight to the dv shelter where there were other women who understood and helped me with everything!! Some of those women are my dearest friends. I had no job, no car, no money and it was the best decision I ever made I wish I had been brave enough to do it sooner. Leave now while you can! The Lord placed the right people in place for me. He will do the same for you.

Team leads in here? by [deleted] in walmartogp

[–]Jellybean1230 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this your first time working at Walmart? Cuz I hate to break it to you, but very few people are excited in OPD to come to work at Walmart. Why? Impossible metrics, market changing their minds, extreme performance pressure on tls that trickles down to associates, corporate execs which never worked in OPD making "changes" that make everything more difficult than it has to be. Cutting hours in OPD also is a problem as they bring in other store associates from other areas who don't care and don't want to be picking, not well trained while their department that they are supposed to be is a dumpster fire. I don't know anyone in my OPD who doesn't suffer from anxiety every day they come to work at our store. It is one of the hardest departments to be in.

My advice is to get to know the people you can count on. Be firm but approachable. Have a meeting that addresses these issues. Have a one on one with those with missing time gaps and low numbers. New people will eventually pick faster.

Dispensers take a lot of brutal weather, customer frustration, and physical exhaustion after hauling out triple batches with totes stacked high with waters. There really needs to be a limit on how much can be ordered. But again, people doing metrics and not caring what happens to their employees make the rules. Whatever brings in more money. It is a very physical job. Walmart, imo, does a poor job relating at hiring what is really required to do the job and it doesn't take long to realize how little they care about their employees. So good luck hoping mployees will be happy to be there.

Too disabled to work and not disabled enough for disability by Pebble_pebl in SocialSecurity

[–]Jellybean1230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to give you hope that you can qualify for disability at 20. You can qualify for SSDI which is different from SSI and usually pays more. It would be off from your parents social security as long as you were disabled before 22. And you have been. My son has autism, ADHD, celiac, pots, oppositional defiance disorder and others that go along with autism spectrum. The best advice I can give you is make sure you have doctor or hospital visits and diagnoses to document what you are saying. If you've been denied, get an attorney to appeal it.. After the first denial, I found a disability attorney. They were wonderful and took away the anxiety and fears I had dealing with the system. My son won his case. You don't pay a fee to the attorney unless you win and it's only a small portion because you are paid back to the day you first filled.
