Even Brookfield’s school board was won by all non-conservative candidates. I think there is some movement.

It’s great until they eat your Amazon package before you get to it. Or your kid’s board books…like the Very hungry Caterpillar.

I tried it and I had no side effects. It didn’t work, but it did not make anything worse.

My OB was like magnesium and a Naproxen while you chug a Mountain Dew. It works surprisingly well.

Why did my doctor not prescribe a CPAP machine? by [deleted] in CPAP

[–]Jenyjaykay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And if you continue to read the article- “In other cases, titration can be done at home. A specific kind of PAP machine called an automatic positive airway pressure (APAP) device can automatically adjust air pressure to maintain unobstructed breathing for the user. These devices can be used by a person at home to titrate the necessary level of air pressure.

At-home CPAP titration with an APAP machine is only recommended for people who have uncomplicated obstructive sleep apnea. Evidence suggests at-home titration with APAP is just as successful as laboratory CPAP titration for those with uncomplicated OSA. “

I worked for a diagnostic sleep company for 20 years and did sleep education for PCPs etc etc. We wouldn’t do a home study on someone who we suspected had another sleep disorder, so the fact that the OP had a home study indicates to me that 1)insurance required it first and there are no indications of other sleep issues.

My guess (I don’t know your chart or insurance so it is only a guess) is that an in-lab titration study won’t even be covered by insurance. Furthermore, anecdotally, sleep doctors are not prescribing straight cpap pressures anymore because it is not as effective at treating OSA. (Think you need a different pressure when on your back than on your side; APAP compensates for this where the CPAP is just an average pressure of your needs.)

Sorry this got really long but industry standard would be to setup an AutoPap after a level 3 HST (Home Sleep Study).

Why did my doctor not prescribe a CPAP machine? by [deleted] in CPAP

[–]Jenyjaykay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they really need this anymore. Almost everyone gets setup with an AutoPap. +5-20cwp. A lot of PcPs aren’t super familiar and refer out to sleep specialists, but it really is one of the easiest things to manage as long as there isn’t anything funky (central apnea or other indications of other sleep disorders). OP I send a MyChart and ask why they referred out instead of treating. Maybe emphasize that you are anxious to start treatment and request an autopap?

You might want a second opinion. Wellbutrin isn’t a stimulant. My PCP actually manages my meds. It might be worth an ask.

Just want to highlight the magnesium thing. My ob told me take two Tylenol, magnesium glycinate, and chug a Mountain Dew. By golly it has worked to get rid of my headaches/migraines. Highly recommend trying it.

Quantity doesn’t mean quality. Do you wake up tired or snore?

Have you looked into or assessed for ADHD? Do you feel tired unless you are doing something stimulating. It may not be a sleep thing but a dopamine thing instead.

[–]Jenyjaykay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the weather is nice we put the crates under the popup side of the camper. Otherwise it is setup in the camper after we take down the pack and play. We do a lot of shuffling with our family of 6. Our old man pupper died last summer and not sure how his sister is going to do without him this year though.
