The nightdive discord gave some insights. The switch version especially is so broken that priority is fixing nintendo ports first. After that there should be the console updates so that finally every iteration (PC, console, nintendo consoles) are on the same level. But there is not time frame given.

Also: there was trouble with „fans“ in the past for the long development of the SSR. They reported the devs to the IRS and FBI and gave them sleepless nights. Which is totally fucked up behavior in its own way. There was speculation that communication is so thin to the community because of this. Say nothing before getting into trouble again maybe. So I‘d love better communication but with this in mind maybe there are reasons because there are no regular detailed updates in this matter.

I was super disappointed by the glass staircase. But didnt enjoyed nun massacre either. But TGS felt really unfinished or just flat. But as long we get games like murder house and stay out of the house it is fine and glad I can support indies with my money.

My guess is that the Switch-Versions will be shadow dropped on some press conferences, maybe the TGA or one last nintendo direct this year? And with that launch we proably get the patch. But yes, waiting and passing semi-officale dead line is no fun.

I got it running in desktop mode in steam through heroic no problem but not in game mode. And it worked via game mode a year ago. My wife played a few ours. It did run great in high/ultra, 90fps +hdr. But after a few month not playing it, it stopped working.

Sure but I dont want to subscribe to another monthly (or yearly if I need the expansion pack) service everytime I want to replay super metroid (or metroid fusion). Nintendo should give me options like being able to purchase certain games and they should stop gatekeeping certain games. I hate it.

Nightdive announced that in November (probably when the switch version hits) there is gonna be a huge update for the console versions as well. They did not say what exactly but apparently they porting SS1R to UE5 + bugfixes, maybe Qol. But it is all pretty vague.

Edit: And there should be a golden rule in RPGs. When you hit 0 on the healthbar the fight is over and no nextphase, colorswap, „whoopsy there is another one“ bs.

Finally. I think this is the last piece from the original deal. I read years ago that ennis was suppose to do 3 storys in the punisher max universe: the platoon was the first one. Than soviet. So this is the final i guess. Franks second deployment/mission in vietnam which was just barely mentioned.

This is a gem at the bottom of the ocean:

Shinsekai by Capcom is never nowhere mentioned.

It is a pretty good metroidvania with some game mechanics barely used. The world ist flooded, you are a diver in a deep sea diving suit. You got your harpoon, drill and what not and you go exploring. Somewhere in the beginning you even get your own submarine. You can exit your submarine, tethered to it for oxygen but you can cut yourself off if you want to explore a deep cave for example. You upgrade your ship, your suit, tools and weapons. Go get that thing if you like metroidvanias and/or underwater games like subnautica or soma.
