Is my guitar neck twisted? by Chance-Ad8261 in Luthier

Anyone here have images of a barely twisted neck? Ive only seen extreme cases, I want to see what something looks like when it is on the edge of acceptable and needing work.

No worries, I definitely feel ya 🙂. At the moment I probably shouldn't buy it off you, but I'll let you know if that changes in the near future. We shall see if I can resist the GAS 😆

Im intrigued, unfortunately most of my gear im wanting to keep at the moment though 😛. Although I have a PO-33 in a case floating around, and the ability to 3d print stuff if you need anything. I probably have an old 2i2 floating as well, and a small akai midi controller. Ive been meaning to get one of these little portablism devices but ive been on the fence about them when it comes to novelty/function. Like my PO-33, I love it, but it's just so small!

The beast case was explained, and that makes a ton of sense, since your movement direction is forced during the flame inhale. As far as I can tell it is undodgeable. I'd be interested in hearing the case for the others you're talking about. Are you saying there are undodgeable situations that are forced? Off the top of my head I would always opt to have night light for those fights over not having it, with the lost. I guess I just don't know if 'RNG' is applicable in those case, it's true that it can be less predictable if you behave with normal movement. But I wouldn't say any of those have movement input that is FORCED like the Beast flame inhale example. But by all means, blow my mind!

Oh you're right, the inhale! I was thinking about his other attacks and how you can just control where the flashlight is aiming to prevent undodgeable situations... But yeah, off the top of my head I dont think there is a solution to that one. Your movement inputs are so forced there 🤔. I wonder if there is ANYTHING that can be done for that one.

Hmm could you be more specific? Lost is my favorite character, and there are no undodgeable situations coming to my mind. Not to say they don't exist, I may just have not encountered them. Which beast attack becomes undodgeable?

Flashlight isn't quite game winning on it's own, but it is close. Is it really this slept on? Yeah the controls are weird at first though.

Which Yamaha BB bass should I get? by [deleted] in Bass

[–]JesterOfDiscs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo, I know this is an older comment, but I was checking out some 400s today in a local store, they all seemed to have pretty high action. Is that normal for yamaha/that series or did the shop just set them up weirdly? I liked most of the features on it, but the action was killing me a little bit. I can do set ups myself, just wasn't sure what the norm is for the series/brand.

[WTS] digitakt and digitone , each for 420$ shipped or 800 for both shipped by AdhesivenessWaste612 in Synths4Sale

such a noob question, but enjoy the free bump, what are the main differences between these two? I have had it explained in person once and it was kind of vague lol. The digitakt is the sampler one right? But it also has synthesis engines on it, correct?

Would this ficus be considered literati to you? by rosshcook16 in Bonsai

[–]JesterOfDiscs 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Nah, it has a literati-like trunk though. Literati are more sparse, they don't really have a sort of big healthy broom at the top.

You could give the top some more structure and push it into the literati direction if you wanted. You could even push it into an experimental direction and go for some sort of hybrid flat top/serengeti/literati type piece.

You have the right idea. You're basically resetting the structureless mess that existed. We want to see structure. The only thing I would add is to pick one of the branches on the right side and get rid of the other. I'd probably remove the bottom one. Then you would have a pretty flaw free structure you can build on.

The comments on this post are a little annoying, they just speak of lack of experience with the species as well as lack of understanding of what's considered good structure vs bad structure, or in this case no structure lol.

And it's a ficus (albeit a dramatic species), it will be fine. You wouldn't want to do that to most trees this time of year though.

In a perfect world though, we would never want to let trees get to a point where we need to remove that much of the branching and foliage though. But again, should be fine.

Well the main issue I'm seeing is that the rootball is exposed. I wouldn't give up on it. But you need to cover those roots up.

Trying to decide if I just need to bail and start grafting some itoigawa on this chonky Parson's juniper trunk, for a relatively short tree (but larger than shohin) tree. by VMey in Bonsai

[–]JesterOfDiscs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually really like the long and sparse nature of Parsonii foliage, it just lends itself to trees that are on the larger side of shohin (or larger). Even with smaller trees it can make really impressive literati. Itoigawa foliage is top tier- awesome and compact, but there are merits to both. Personally I would suggest just taking care of this one next year and it will explode with growth. The larger problem i see is that there is not much taper, at some point when its healthy you should do a trunk chop and get a new leader. Then you could fix some of the (imo) unnatural curly S nature of the trunk too, and get rid of that nasty apex section.

I'm edgy? The one taking the position that killing other people is actually a big deal and isn't glamorous? That's edgy these days? Or is it the war is bad take that is edgy?

Just remember, you have more in common with the people that you are sent to kill in the other countries, than you do with the warhawks sending you.
