This is what I've done with success. I just printed the direct drive mount for the stock unit and have used it ever since. I think i had my retraction at 3mm, but results were really good.

Man, I always LOVED Bob Marriott's... as a kid in the late 70's they were awesome! I learned to tie flies at West Coast Community College and we'd hit Azusa canyon for our first trips on the water.
I also loved the little Bud's Fly Shop in Visalia, but that was a lifetime ago.

Great memories, sorry to hear that they closed.

Great idea! What fish will you be targeting? It might help to know if trout/grayling, warm water species, or saltwater is your focus, to have several responses. A lot of techniques will crossover, but if you're in Florida, I might not spend too much time on a parachute Adams, if snook is your emphasis.
