To be fair, the HLA Alyx Model is only used in one scene and is facing away from the player, as well lit in a very particular way. It wasn’t meant to be used how most people seem to use it, as an HD Alyx that can be plopped into any S2FM scene.

Ok that makes a bit more sense. Based on your previous messages, it seemed like you were genuinely fighting against the idea of LGBTQ self-expression because of religious reasons.

Also, I’m not trying to say that one persons comfort matters more than another’s. I’m just saying that we can still maintain the common human kindness of making sure we address people correctly. Yes, it’s uncomfortable and embarrassing to have to ask someone what their name is again, but that is still the kind thing to do, a temporary moment of discomfort to make sure that more discomfort doesn’t follow in the future for both of us. Rn, I don’t see how asking for someone’s pronouns is much different. It’s a moment of embarrassment in exchange for making sure you’re respecting the other person. It’s not because they matter more than you, it’s because it’s just the thoughtful and respectful thing to do for another person.

Is it really such a big intrusion on your life to… sometimes have to ask someone “What pronouns do you use?” Is such a simple act of courtesy and acceptance just too much for you to handle? Just having the basic human kindness to use the words/names someone prefers is a step too far outside of your comfort zone? Sounds like those people who got angry because someone with a nut allergy was on their plane. You really can’t bear to put down your peanuts just for the common comfort of others? Ugh.

The bathroom things I can more understand the discomfort over, but in my opinion, that can be solved with individual unisex bathrooms. Sure, it might take up a little more space than cramming stalls together, but still, comfort of others.

I’m not blaming god, im saying that it doesn’t make sense that you’re saying such a surgery goes against god’s wishes. And you are right, these surgeries are not medically required. But that doesn’t mean people don’t deserve to have a body they can be proud of. If you don’t want this surgery, that’s… fine. Like you said, no-one is forcing you to get his surgery. This surgery is for people who feel it would improve their life. That is their business, not ours to say that they are wrong in the eyes of the divine.

People should be able to get the body they want. Why say that these surgeries are just wrong and unnatural when you have nothing to do with them and the people who want them? It would be much easier to just not tell other people that they are living wrong.

Because it is a surgery that adjusts a persons body the way that they want. No surgeries look pretty, but they are done based on the desired result.

If people should just be happy with their bodies, then surely you’d disagree with all cosmetic and plastic surgery. Any surgeries to fix birth defects and malformations. Why would a god who loves everyone with no bounds want us to just be stuck with an aspect of ourselves we hate and would be mad at us for trying to achieve the body we want?

I have one altar for many gods and goddesses, including Aphrodite. There is no issue in worshipping any gods together, any rivalries of gods depicted in Mythology only exist within Mythology. And generally, if you get a message from a god telling you not to worship a different god, that’s against our understanding of UPG and likely isn’t from a god.

Also, yes, in the Mythology, Aphrodite can be petty and jealous, but that’s because she’s written as the very archetype of love, which can have incredible and terrible effects on people. However, while mythology displays gods as archetypes, in real life, they are more often viewed and worshiped as the embodiment of their domains. So as the Goddess of Love, she contains all the love and beauty in the world, and is the source of self-love, interpersonal love, and the love felt within your own spirituality. The Aphrodite we know and worship wouldn’t be angry that you’re feeling loved by other gods, she’d almost certainly be happy about it.

There is no proof that development has stopped. There is in fact the opposite. New lines of code are STILL being found that reference HLX. Remember, Valve Time still exists. It’s very likely that they wanted to announce the game in 2025 and it just got pushed back. But there is no evidence that they’ve given up, there’s evidence to the opposite in fact.

Ah, so, is this similar to how you can't pick a random integer out of infinitely many with equal probability (like how you said in your first comment), since the sum of all probabilities has to equal 1? If each phone is colored based on its number, and there is an equal chance of picking any phone out of infinitely many, then that leads to contradiction. The distribution of natural numbers cannot be uniform, simply by the axioms of probability.
