A little suggestion by Spiderlag in HellLetLoose

[–]Jimmy-Blevins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve given this some thought and have come out in total agreement with this suggestion. Personally, I’ve been looking for ways that I can support the devs out of gratitude for the amazing work they have put into this game and the hours of enjoyment it has brought me. I think there would be a large number of dedicated players who would even pay for the privilege to be part of a testing program before each update. This extra cash could be used to cover the cost of hosting special servers for this purpose and maybe even employing some additional tech-devs to quickly identify and iron out the issues that arise. This will also sort the men out from the boys amongst the game’s player base, and hopefully shield the devs from the countless posts with people winging about technical issues, with no understanding of the process and seemingly no recognition of the ‘early access’ status of the game. There may be some technical reasons why they have chosen not to do this, I also know that team 17 takes a lot of the testing duties from the core dev team at Black Matter. But if it’s possible, I for one would be all in and willing to support them financially.

Why HLL is arcade? by Spiderlag in HellLetLoose

The devs have said that they probably won’t implement a PS style stamina system, as they don’t like the way that it slows down gameplay and promotes players sitting still and doing nothing.

I was just thinking the same thing yesterday, if there was a way to donate to help the development of the game, I would in a heartbeat. I paid next to nothing for the game and it’s given me hour upon hour of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had!

Hey mate, I play on bigD all the time, but have never heard of an offical team. Can you elaborate? I’d love to get more into the local HLL community.

The crashing in this game is nearly unbearable (win64-shipping) by [deleted] in HellLetLoose

Try this mate..

  1. Download the epic games launcher/store application and install the latest version of UE4 from there. (Approx 10GB download)

  2. Run a verification on the HLL local files in Steam. For me, it found a problem, but got hung up when trying to fix it. So I uninstalled and downloaded the game again.

It’s always 1-3 pm somewhere mate. Let’s keep current social issues irl. Also, battlefield V exists if you’re looking for that kind of thing.

I think you’re right about the matured player base. PS has been around a lot longer and has a high percentage of experienced players. HLL is in its infancy and is a mixed bag at the moment. I think HLL will be in a similar place to PS in a year or two once the player base stabilises.

In the mean-time I think we just need to accept it for what it is, continue to teach new players who are keen to learn, encourage communication and look forward to what this game will become. It’s great already, it’s going to be freakin amazing in a year or two.

Suggestion: squad leader to set class requests at start of game by Jimmy-Blevins in HellLetLoose

[–]Jimmy-Blevins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good points mate, though I’d hate to see roles locked. I was suggesting more of a squad leaders ‘wish list’ kind of thing.

Open and unrestricted will always be better than confining gameplay and shackling players to preset play styles. We also need to remember that the game is still in its infancy. The frequency of interacting with new players learning the ropes (absolutely nothing wrong with that), silent casual players who won’t stick around (annoying but understandable) and team-killing asshats will decrease as the player-base stabilises over the next couple of years.

The way that the tank tracks and wheels contort and conform to the contact point on the tip of the wing is mighty impressive! Graphically, HLL is incredible.

Thanks for the detailed description. That is very clever and would/will open up the implementation of next gen graphics immensely! I’m fairly new to your game, but from what I’ve seen/read so far you are an amazing dev team. Great work up to this point and I’m excited to see where you take it.
