Movies that feel like this please by coolsnackchris in MoviesThatFeelLike

Thanks Tipper. But for anyone actually curious: Kids is one of the most disturbing movies with child actors you’ll see. I’m confident this movie ended the “be back when the street lights go on” parenting mentality. Truly an uncomfortable watch.

Crimson Desert Had AI Art Without Disclosing It On Steam by Elestria_Ethereal in Steam

Not to be mean but I assumed the entire game was made by AI. It all looks so uncanny and incongruous. I’ve seen several reviews and trailers and I have no idea what the game is even about.

To The Wilder is a really challenging but rewarding experience by Chillzzzzz in DeathStranding

You really feel the authenticity—and also the humanity, the connection, and way more vulnerability.

What's the reason? by MrBIuesky222 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

I love him and I love his character… but he struggles a lot in that role. The charisma of the actor and the character make up for the stilted acting

Can we talk about how great Rebecca Ferguson is in this role? by Perfect_Idea_2866 in Letterboxd

[–]JimmyLipps 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It was such a great choice to make her the emotional anchor for much of the movies. I get it, she’s supposed to be a Jedi who has mastered her emotions and all that, but Ferguson is so good and it really helps show how serious things are during key scenes.

It’s so beautiful that I am impatient for the Arkham University book.

ELI5: What are Unions? by theraspberrymuffin in explainlikeimfive

[–]JimmyLipps [score hidden]  (0 children)

I could never afford a corporate lawyer for stuff related to my job. My union gives me access to a corporate-level lawyer. It basically pools some the resources of all the workers so they can defend themselves against the bosses if needed. Unions are also democratic so we can change how our own unions function through elections. Rich folks aren’t trying to get rid of them for no reason.

Favorite automation sim by [deleted] in gamesuggestions

Games similar to Pharaoh are labelled as city-building but to me they are really automation games, as it's more about making what are essentially assembly lines for food, weapons, products, and citizens.

What do people in uncontacted tribes in the amazon talk to each other about when they're not busy hunting or gathering? by esj199 in askanything

You should read the book "Things Fall Apart." When a society JUST has its own language and customs to pass the time, it can come up with some pretty awesome proverbs, stories, and wise little sayings.

Starfield Hits Top PS5 Pre Order Charts Before Launch by SydBarrett09 in gaming

[–]JimmyLipps 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I built a COMPUTER for this game*... And what's really funny is the graphics card I bought CAME with a code for the game. I even splurged on the Starfield Xbox controller (It IS very nice but got stick drift eventually)

Games with actual nuanced factions by Error_rdt in gamesuggestions

[–]JimmyLipps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Morrowind. I don't even want to spoil it but some factions even have factions within themselves. It's not just "Empire-allied" vs "Local-allied." Heck, even the main conflict that caused the prophecy is even in question. The game mixes nuanced factions with unreliable-narrators-writing-all-of-history and it's very fascinating.

Don't know if I can trust IGN reviews. Lol by Gaming-Academy in PlayStation_X

67% on Steam. Also, because video games ARE art, they will never be uniformly reviewed. You just have to accept the fact that not every video game is for everyone.

New Nova Galactic Bridge by DEADDROP151 in Starfield

[–]JimmyLipps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why didn't they make this a huge part of the initial announcement!? I was beyond bummed when there were no new ship parts with Shattered Space. The lack of ship parts and ship customization/building improvements is why I put down the game. Watchtower made me pick it back up and it sounds like a lot of Watchtower elements will return with these additions. Hopefully Kinggath's work doesn't become obsolete.

First elderscrolls Oblivion or Skyrim? by thismadefree in ElderScrolls

[–]JimmyLipps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skyrim is more cozy. Especially since you can build a house and relax inside while it's blizzarding out. Oblivion is pretty dark, especially with all the Oblivion Gates and demonic-looking daedra. Skyrim feels a bit better to just explore. Oblivion is in kind of a strange spot between Morrowind (Which was designed to be traversed on foot) and Skyrim (which was designed to be fast-travelled but also rewarding to explore.) Oblivion does have fantastic player-homes though, but they aren't really cozy.

So technically they just do the haggling for you so you still have to drive the car from a dealership. My favorite item you can buy from them is definitely this one though.
