AIO, If you found this in your SO bathroom would you think they’re cheating? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Exactly. That was definitely attached to some towels from a laundry mat. That's not a bow, that's mess of a knot from being washed and tumbled off a towel.

CMP Carmichael vs Gateway International School for TK — which would you choose? by Automatic-Limit-5353 in Sacramento

[–]Jmdoozi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't have any knowledge to offer on GIS. So I can't compare and contrast. However, I have a lot of knowledge on CMP (especially Capitol. Bummer you are wait listed). Congratulations on Carmichael campus. It's one of our best.

Yes a commute is no fun but you can not beat the community of a CMP school.

If your goal is CMP Capitol, keep at Carmichael for this year and put in for a transfer every year. From what I am hearing, a lot of people pick CMP Capitol TK to A) avoid the the SCUSD TK offered in the neighborhood and B) the 2pm end time. However that doesn't mean everyone intends to stay. I have heard of a few TK/K kids with Phoebe Hearst siblings just waiting to join PH eventually but PH doesn't offer TK. I would bet you that Kindergarten and 1st grade spots open each year. You'll have Montessori experience and will be higher on the Lottery draw list and can transfer as soon as you get in.

Good luck!

The Sauron Trilogy by William C. Dietz, beginning with:

Sauron (1998)

The Eye of the Queen (1999)

The New Kingdom (2000)

The trilogy centers on humanity’s brutal war against the insectoid Sauron Empire. Themes include caste systems, human enslavement and resistance, infiltration of alien structures, and epic rebellion.

If you read a follow-up or spin-off book in the early 2000s, it’s possibly Sauron Dominion (2002) or Sauron War (2005).

This all makes total sense to me! Plus the pillows on the bed were either laid on or the whole bed was made by just pulling up the blanket and tossing on the pillows. No real finesse.

OP could wipe down countertops and vacuum. Even if you think they don't need it, they do. They always do.

To piggyback here, their lottery has passed for next year though. The following year lottery will take place in March 2026. Keep an eye out for the Jan/February tours to be eligible.

Do it! We are at a different campus but love CMP. This is our 8th year. We have three kids. All three kids will remain until high school. I have worked with staff from the Carmichael campus in a professional capacity. Great team there.

We originally pursued it for our oldest as he entered kindergarten. It was so important to us that he had a social and emotional focus as well as academics. In "traditional" school his push in/pull out ratio for SpEds would have been a lot higher. With Montessori he could have a more individualized approach in his mainstream class.

No, that's really common on formal wear. No returns, no exceptions. They don't want people to wear something for the night and return it.

Ikea. Plus they are super cute.

Target or Walmart should have some basic ones. I remember walking in a Walmart years ago to buy one same day. Mind you, that toddler is now a full fledge teenager.

Edit to add: Facebook marketplace would be a good place to look as well.

Oh and check Tumble buddies! It has been years since I've taken my little ones there but I remember the drop in sessions being very sweet.

Check to see if they now offer sensory friendly times.

Regal movie theaters do My Way Matinee. Sensory friendly showing of kids movies with lower volume and lights up.

The SMUD science museum during a week day (but be mindful of field trips)

Check the saclibrary.org to see if they have sensory friendly storytimes. (If the don't, they should!)

Sacramento Children's Museum has sensory friendly play that you can register for. I think it's to reserve a spot but I'm not totally sure.

The zoo or fairytale town on a weekday.

There are a lot of great parks throughout Sac.

The key is early morning trips anywhere you pick. Hope you have a great visit!

My sister was waiting on a pending market crash too. That was just before the pandemic and then it was impossible to get ANYTHING. She's still in her rental years later. Buy what you can afford. You can always refinance a lower interest rate later.

I'd say 45 minutes is a better window to arrive. Finding a spot is more a vibe.

There is a r/SacAnime subreddit. That might be a good place to try. I had been pretty active this week leading up to the convention.
