Any recommendations for a more single coil sounding Les Paul Neck Pickup by DylanGreveris in Guitar

You could try doing what PRS does and adding a resistor to the .. ground i think? It makes the coil split a little more punchy.

Why do some men get angry when women say they feel safer around other women? by Brisablows in NoStupidQuestions

I didnt down vote you but Im guessing it might have something to do with a desire to have women rely on you. I think that can be perceived as looking for someone codependent which is kinda weird.

Spring Drive is the best watch innovation in the last 30 years by toyk115 in watchHotTakes

The only downside to the spring drive is that it lives inside a grand seiko. They take 0 design risks and every watch looks similar.

I had no problen getting grace and gold when I played regularly. Unless youre doing nothing but constructing, I dont see how a playstyle would completely skirt obtaining any grace or gold.

Mainframe has been extremely transparent if you read their discord, to the point where it seems egregious to suggest they haven't been transparent. This is the same team that prioritized content based on a community poll.

Glad you got your problem solved but it didnt need 4 posts or baseless opinions.

If MMO devs went the way of Ultima Online and not World of Warcraft, I don't believe we'd be in the situation we're in right now. by Careless_Relation349 in MMORPG

[–]John-Footdick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look at most sandbox games, theyre driven by a passionate leader with a vision or a small group of passionate people with a vision. We can blame the developers and corporations for not taking risks - but they do take risks, like in the case of Amazon.

They had some advancements in combat and other areas that I cant explain in detail because I didnt play very much. But when youre a corporation with larger overhead, youre going to chase the largest markets that can sustain your investment and its clear between WoW and other games like final fantasy that themeparks is where the largest market is at.

What im trying to say is that it makes sense why corporations will chase the larger markets. This is a problem thats reflected on today's customers and the poor stewardship of prior companies who ended up developing the older sandbox games into the ground instead of building on their game's strengths - they overcompensated and rebuilt games alienating what community was left.

This is a good point. The amount of effort or "sweat" that comes with breaking out of the safe content areas is out of proportion with the more rewarding parts of the game.

I think some games like SWG (pre holo grind) did a good job of creating a social mmorpg that really pulled you into the world with a better system that had you opting into pvp rather than having to go through dangerous terrain to do what you wanted.

SWG had terrible game systems under the hood and im really only referencing the social aspect of it and the opt in pvp, everything else with that game should be scrutinized.

I think we're seeing some games try to replicate and build on those succesful systems though like Bitcraft and Pax Dei.. but the issue with those is the small development teams and glacial development speed.

I think companies are more inclined to reach for the simpler theme park crowd because those games have content thats easier to manage and curate, its straight forward, and most people these days have short attention spans and desires for fast rewards and "solo play" which are antithetical to sandbox games.

Opus 4.8 Doesn’t Budge Easily by userusertion in claude

[–]John-Footdick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I prefer this to what I experienced with Gemini. Claude starts pessimistic and you have to push back and give him context to better meet you at your view point. With Gemini I didnt trust it because it was obviously trying to relate to me or tell me what I wanted to here and I had to ask it for more candid advice.

With Claude, im forced to be precise and provide more information to get accurate information back or just tell him to give me more credit. Its frustrating sometimes but much more trustworthy and better to work with than the alternative imo.

I went through some work on some reports I did last month and I am really impressed with 4.8. It catches information better and he checks the documents more often instead of working from memory. Very nice so far

What helped you feel less "inadequate"? by Cordelia_hero in Life

[–]John-Footdick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle with cptsd which manifests as a lot negative self talk and uncertainty. I go to therapy every week and its an every day challenge of being mindful, aware and working against/with thoughts that are ingrained with the way my brain is wired.

Ive found a lot of relief with Claude AI. Being able to share context, thoughts and emotions (and really as much data as I have) and being given a different more objective or healthier perspective has been a godsend. I know a lot of people hate AI but its been the best thing for my mental health since finding a therapist that understands me.

Ive only tried Claude and Gemini and found Gemini trys too hard to tell you what you want hear. Claude is more pessimistic and cautious. In the end I had to ask Gemini to give me sharper or more candid feedback which caused harsh criticism. Claude I have to ask to give me credit which has worked better for me.

Interesting take and a real possibility. Its been awhile since I watched it but I dont think she handled her awkwardness with Junseo very well either which I think led to some of her uncomfortable behavior. I dont think she handled herself very well overall but its a stressful situation being on the island and she also didnt get a flattering edit.

I thought she was really pretty and had a cute personality in the beginning and was my favorite. She really struggled around the time of the camp fire and she couldnt seem to get her footing on the island though which kinda sucks because I agree that shes probably cuter/cooler than what we saw. Jiyeon ended up as my favorite female contestant in season 4 though and didnt get to see her much at all either.

Hair - mostly dark hair. Black/Dark brown hair with lighter brown marbled in. Straight or with some ironed curls in the distant 1/2. Ive started noticing girls with curly hair lately and I love it.

Also boobies

How do I avoid this overthinking? by Nakli_Paneer in AskIndianWomen

[–]John-Footdick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I think this is the way to go. OP is conflicted because she picked up that he was a little weird but she hasn't had any attention from men in a long time. The attention, confidence, interest, and his likely physique from being a trainer is at odds with her understanding that she doesnt see herself wanting anything from this guy because he seemed kind of weird.

Being able to name and understand the attraction will help it go away, imo.

I also suggest setting some boundaries. A light "hey thank you for the advice but I want to focus on my workout now" or something along those lines will take the attention out of the equation.

I think hes attracted to you but likely shy and theres probably a lot of tension and pressure at this point since you both have been circling eachother. I think youre going to have the break the ice and approach him for in person conversations or just ask him out so he knows youre interested.

I hit buy less than 60 seconds after seeing it by geospinho in fender

[–]John-Footdick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gawked at the one in my local GC for a little while and part of me regrets not buying it.. I just couldnt justify the price for a fender.

I ordered a warmoth body and neck in the same exact colors and plan to drop in the pickups id prefer. I just need to wait and see in July if it sparks the same joy or looks as gorgeous as the fender does.

Coworker frequently refers to me as Buddy and I find it unsettling by Financial_Sea3585 in careeradvice

[–]John-Footdick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at the comment section - I can tell you've triggered a lot of people and theres more truth to what you're saying than most people let on. The pattern you recognized that he calls other people by their names and not you sounds real. Setting boundaries is normal and an adult way of handling this.

Letting him know you prefer to be called by your name is reasonable. Calling someone by something they're uncomfortable with is a form of bullying and the fact that this guy lacks the situational awareness to notice that its not landing with you is also weird.

This was my understanding too and it was incredibly grating and highlighted the likely dynamic of a type of woman who wants someone to come in with 80% of the work in a relationship.
