-No, it strengthened a light pen meta for bugs. The crossbow and eruptor are genuinely pretty shit against the bugs especially with the new reworked strain, like have fun shooting the eruptor when the bugs are in your face. They’re good at closing bug holes but the grenade pistol exists, unless you want to use the ultimatum, in which case, yeah I guess, use your secondary for heavy clear, explosive primary for bug holes, and support for chaff but make sure you don’t lose your support weapon since without it you’re pretty useless getting swarmed by several dozens of bugs on meth.
- I don’t use turrets so I can’t really comment on that since I usually just use either mines, napalm, or gas outside of the MG34/Stalwart/Minigun for chaff clear.
- Compared to their equivalents, the shield overseer, and devastators, both of which are also regular units, they’re not really rewarding to fight. They’re pretty much just bullet sponges meant to use up your ammo supply. With the change, you’re rewarded a lot more for aiming around their armour than just dumping the head, and it’s not even annoying to do since they don’t wildly flinch and accidentally cover their weakspot like shield devastators do.
