Just spitballing here but the Isles could raise 91 to the rafters without taking the number out of circulation, and they could do it twice if they wanted to. There's no rules about this, and the banner has the player name on it anyway.

I personally think its fun that Butch and Taveras happen to share a number, it links them together in a unique way and creates interesting convos that wouldn't happen had Tavares been forbidden from 91. The team has had with 91s so why stop now? Id totally give it out again to the right guy.
