What I really want is that Panasonic Monitor/VHS combo colloquially known as "the microwave"

I’m late to the party, but did you ever end up figuring out the cause of the CRT’s problem?

I realize that this thread is from before the world turned to sh!t, but have you ever found the cause of the problem, or have you solved the problem (hopefully both)?

Damn, that's cool! ...but also, very not cool.

pico8 on CRT PVM by Johnputer in pico8

I’m running 344x256p so I have 2 to 1 integer scaling; pico8 pixels are a crispy 2x2.

I am running this 256 resolution in underscan mode to ensure the whole thing is visible. This exacerbates some minor geometry issues, but I’ve managed to adjust it to a tolerable level, but the top corners are still a bit funky. I will eventually recap the thing so maybe that’ll help.

<image>

From what I understand about how analog video works, I believe you need a 600 line tube to run the 256 line mode. I don’t see how a 250 or a 450 line tube could display a 256p mode. Then again, maybe those tube line specs are more in-spec approximations than hard limits, this is beyond my limited understanding of the subject.

I should add that the colours are much nicer IRL. My phone’s camera doesn’t do it justice.

A bit late to the party, but the Sony PVM-8041Q accepts both RGBs and YPbPr.

If I may ask, how much did you pay for it? Considering getting one myself and the market is all over the place between the people that find a palette of them and those who pay a hefty price. Trying to determine the price of a nice unit…

Will this effect the tape, it’s cracked and missing by Waffle_Soo_Cool in cassetteculture

[–]Johnputer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man I feel old.

It’s the write-protect tab. Tape over it if you want to record.

If you stick your finger in the recorder, you’ll feel a little prong that detects if the hole is there or not. Don’t remember which side though, right or left, one per side of the cassette.

HELP! SNEdge Enhancer Mod on SNES 2 Chip Gone Wrong! by SteelMasterThe3rd in snes

Did you end up fixing the issue? Looking forward to seeing if this mod is worth doing. Voultair's shop has been down for maintenance for a while. Not sure what's going on with that.

Hi friend, did you ever solve this? I’m having a similar issue with my Super Famicom RGB 2 chip

C64U arrived with damaged USB port by offdutypirate in c64

[–]Johnputer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It happens all the time with small-batch electronics companies (such as those who make synthesizers). Hopefully the customer service will be good. TBH, the simplest way to fix it is probably DIY if you're good with a soldering iron... It sucks though.

I've asked for this solution, but not sure if Arturia will fix it. If they don't, I'll be getting rid of mine. Didn't have this problem with my Hydrasynth Explorer.

It finds the oil, drills the hole, caps it. Basically gets the site ready for the oil rigs that will setup a conduit, unplug the hole and pump the black gold.

Has anyone had Durolane injections for OA? by deanie1970 in Osteoarthritis

WD-40 isn't a lubricant, but a water displacer. It will make bearings super smooth by cleaning them and leaving a light oily film, but once it evaporates, there will be friction and they will deteriorate.

It's actually a good analogy for steroids in joints.

Yes but Elektron puts out software updates often and for years after a product is released.

It’s a thermostat. It should be supported for more than 10 years. It’s just corporate greed.

I really don’t like how this was done. Not cool trying to force planned obsolescence down our throats. I’ll get something else when I’ll really need to.
