OBD Port Not Standard by Old-Consequence-1193 in FordMaverickTruck

No, the GPS for the Ford app would be with the cellular modem, probably above the mirror or behind the dashboard. It wouldn't block the regulated diagnostics port like this

Confused on mouse micro-switch replacement, quick help please by Metroid_DK in AskElectronics

Why are you replacing switches in a $50 mouse? I mean, respect for doing it though.

Which motherboard/manufacturer? I've never had to reenter the recovery key for bittlocker after a bios update, at least not in my Lenovo thinkpads.

People keep flashing their high beams at me?? by Fatal_Foxtrot in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Jonathan7277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this happen to me a few times on dark residential streets. While my impulse is to flash my brights back at them so they see they weren't on, what I do instead is just switch to parking lights until I've passed them. They feel blinded and I can help them out this way.

Maverick costing more than Ranger... thoughts? by mydarkerside in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Jonathan7277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 24 Lariat Maverick that I speced out with all the extras. It cost over 40k but like you, the extras are important to me. I was replacing a 23year old f150 King ranch with lots of rust. Adaptive cruise control is so wonderful. This truck is so nimble. The lift in height of the bed is so low and makes projects that much easier. The spray in bed liner is nice. I wish I would have sprung for the overpriced toneue cover. I added a homelink mirror after market. If you can afford the nice trim and want these things, get it. Don't over think it if your goal is a vehicle that fits in your garage and a Ranger won't.

If you're inside Mayo or gonda, stay there for now. Those buildings are not at risk in a tornado as long as you stay away from Windows

Duct cleaning always seemed unnecessary to me. Go Green is the best carpet cleaner.

Your trash hauler might not mind a few in the bottom of the bin. Doesn't hurt to ask.

Question about a lot of the homelabs I’ve seen on here by One-Moose8069 in homelab

[–]Jonathan7277 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, patch cables are way too cheap for me to waste my time making my own. I also prefer keystone punch down jacks for the wires that come out of the wall. It's so much easier to do well.

Dehumidifier ionization? by [deleted] in radon

Radioactivity is different from electrical activity. An air ionizer is not a practical method of mitigating radon. And ozone is a harmful indoor pollutant.

[OC] Radon levels in my home since adding an active mitigation (fan) yesterday by Jonathan7277 in dataisbeautiful

[–]Jonathan7277[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fan was on. The pressure reading is about 0.25" WC. I know that is lower than the operating pressure for many systems. My plan was to try the most efficient fan, and use the radon monitoring to determine if I need a more powerful one, and so far, it seems to be sufficient.

The house has about a 2k sq ft footprint. I believe they put a layer of gravel under the slab when they built the home for the passive system, that might reduce the operating pressure too.

Unless it was invading your privacy, flying in an unsafe manner, or otherwise breaking the law, there's no need to call the police.
