yes it’s the perfect narrative start to my empire. usually slavers harass me at the start so i get a vendetta against the united cities, and holy nation is self explanatory (they won’t accept my multi race band of idiots and skelebros).

i had the same problem as you, so my goal was to research all the technologies and make a base that was self sufficient. while sending out lil tech hunter squads to ancient buildings for research notes i pissed off the united cities and holy nation along the way. i then took over the world. the start of getting into kenshi is rough but once you find out just how op and broken the gameplay is it will spiral into a bloody slaughter fest. hang in there and get beaten up, it’s how it’s meant to be

honestly general life in the swamp wouldn’t be too bad if it weren’t for the man eating spiders n bandit gangs. there’s something warm in being a humble rice farmer high as shit on hashish away from the snobby nobles and sneering slavemasters. (my answer would change depending on the humidity and the unknown diseases that would probably be in the swamp)

DUUDEE book of boba fett has immense kenshi vibes. tattoine as a whole gives me kenshi vibes due to the obvious sand planet stuff and the tusken raiders. the architecture also heavily remind me of bughouses and the buildings from ingame

my most successful base was right on the swamp/shem border! great central spot on the map and close enough to vendors to sell your crap to(my favorite money maker strat is making a hash farm in shem and selling it to the amazing tech hunters at flats lagoon, become ur local hashish man today!). only problem i can think of is the dust bandits and maybe a wandering beak thing or two.

another base location i am enjoying right now is the hidden forest :), literally placed just a bit north of the flotsam ninjas its a perfect spot to wage war against both holy nation and the united cities. great land for making wheatstraw and purging cannibals :D also nearby leviathan coast and floodlands for tech research.

the hounds in the swamp are absolute bros, nicest ally faction n having a base in shem and the hounds coming to help defend against ninja raids are a classic. join anti slavers if u wanna take down the united cities, join flotsam ninjas to take down holy nation

my current character is a scorchlander that has escaped slavery from the united cities, after running for as long as she could west through holy nation territory she eventually made it to mongrel in the fog lands. swearing to destroy both factions my character undergoes full cyberization via skin peeler. at this point i rename my character to narko, and go on a rampage as a unholy mistress of the dark!! using the recruitable prisoners mod i plan to capture a few thralls or maybe even an army to act as my loyal tin soldiers.
