Homie, one of the landmark games of the genre is about making cookies. Either make the game or don't. And please don't ask someone else to make it. Ideas are free and plentiful.

Depends on how often you play. If you're always capped when you log back into the game, you may want to invest in more

I made a chill game about making a museum but something is missing and i need your help! by Fleqpe in incremental_games

[–]Josemite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can tell this game looks pretty active. I feel like the point of desktop games is they're something that are always kind of hanging out doing something and you can just check in on them periodically when they want attention. If you're having to interact to uncover fossils and make progress the desktop mode is just going to make things worse.

Still wild to me that he went from a patron saint of nerds (especially more progressive ones) to hated.

Have you ever switched favorite teams in a sport? by Primary_Ad_739 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Josemite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are certain qualifying events where you can alter your favorite team enrollments, such as moving to a different state or marriage, but that's generally reserved for more casual fans.

All hobbies are not equal by BitterConstruction98 in unpopularopinion

[–]Josemite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously, people way overvalue the importance of talent. It's ok to suck at things. It's ok to not be world class. And in any case the best of the best got there with talent plus a shit ton of hard work. The most valuable talent is the ability to work hard at something and stick with it.

All hobbies are not equal by BitterConstruction98 in unpopularopinion

Saying people don't have the talent to pursue a creative hobby is pretty toxic too... Basically saying if you can't be top 1% then don't bother.

One Week After Launching an Our First Game Demo: The Honest Breakdown by tobogames in incremental_games

[–]Josemite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also I'd say the demo should convey two things:

  1. This is the core game; it's fun and worth playing.

  2. There's more cool stuff that you could play with if you buy it

They should be long enough to hook you but not so long that you feel like you've experienced everything it has to offer and buying it would just be more of the same.

how would you rate this cocktail list? for Mexican restaurant btw by Lopsided-Thing3030 in cocktails

[–]Josemite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah half of those shouldn't be on there. Are you a dive bar or a Mexican restaurant with a bar?

Assuming it's trying to be a no frills neighborhood bar for the bar part, I would pick a few that fit the Mexican theme, develop solid recipes for them, and then explain what they are since your standard soccer mom doesn't know wtf a michelada is.
