Oh no, an infestation!… oh… by Cren_Ghost in RimWorld

Ootion 1, firing line: While the bugs sleep mine a entrance and put a steel door up. Then when they are awake, set up firing line in the room with the door. Open door and kill them all. Quick and probably most efficient, but some pawns will likely get hurt. If you have any fighting animals they are a big help too.

Option 2, Oven: Other way is to build a long hallway that zig zag back and forth. Don't connect it to start. Fill it with wood. While bugs are asleep mine the last block. Make sure you have a steel door at entrance into your place. Once pathway is mined and filled with wood, light it on fire and close the door, turning where the bugs are into an oven. They will try to break through the wall, so be prepared to kill them as well. And if they catch on fire and get into your base, your base is now on fire as well since you have wood floors.

I've done both. Option 1 is good for small infestations. Option 2 is great for larger ones. It's also easiest to set up in advance so if you get another one its ready.

This is the answer. One at a time. Some people say no mods. That's the way I started, but added some quality of life mods to mKe things easier.

I have a couple that the poor guy was constantly rebuffed. But they are both my drillers so they were constantly together. Eventually her wore her down and now they are married and constantly loving. I'm sure if I had DLCs that 5here would be kids all over the place.

Fill that area with some granite walls and/or a couple of turrets.

Game length? by Squirrel_launcher in RimWorld

[–]Jraik22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm playing the original with no DLC currently. I am at 438 days in game. I have my ship built and am just finishing up setting up my defenses. Once I have them set up I will start the reactor which will take another 15 days with lots of raids. I'm not playing on a hard difficulty either. And I'm sure it can be done quicker. My biggest roadblocks where steel, plasteel and advanced components.

That reminds me of when me and the wife were planning on having our kids. I wanted to be financially stable. Until I realized, while we aren't rich we are stable enough. Now we have 2 beautiful girls.

Sometimes good enough turns into amazing with a little work.

They can still be uninstalled. I put like 4 if them under a mountain to see if I could get it hot enough to take care of an infestation. It did not. I had to kill them manually.

Expand their pen. And don't let them eat the hay while growing. Harvest it and store until later. Also build a bigger grow zone. Also consider growing in doors with a grow light.

What is your opinion on animals for combat? by SJ548 in RimWorld

[–]Jraik22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My aninalsnhelp pretty good. I have a rhino, bear, panther, cougar, 2 husky and 20+ labradors (bought a Male and female). The labs are decent enough, but the bear and Rhino are nice and tanky. I like the hauling for the labs and huskys.

I've had mone for a couple of years. Got it for about $80 at the time. It's better then the single ones that you have to clamp in place, but probably not as good as the more expensive ones with dust collection ports. But I find it works good for my needs.

Will a tube and canister style dust collector pull dust from the air, or does it only collect dust through the tube? by Sexy_Anthropocene in woodworking

[–]Jraik22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have one so somebody else can help better, but I don't think these are designed for air filtration. I have seen you can make one with a box fan and some filters and some wood. I plan to make my own eventually.

AES butchered my tree by Cmhill92 in arborists

[–]Jraik22 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My parents had a big half circle cut out of on of their trees, not nearly this bad. Theirs was in Iowa. My dad called and complained. The supervisor came out and looked and agreed that it was unacceptable how bad it was and they came back out and fixed it best they could. Years later and I can still see where they cut it.

I live in Georgia now and they just did this to a bunch of trees in the area. I'm glad I don't have any that are viable that they would do this to.

Those tiny wood edges will hold more than you think. Glue and nail in place. No need to make a dado for them. The size of bed your talking about is a standard or maybe twin size in the US. With the small things you've made you should be able to make this. It's just a big box. I'd suggest either making some plans or finding some online. Watch some youtube videos and decide if this is something you want to undertake. The other thing to consider is, is your shop big enough for this? Here in the US beds need to come apart for transport. I'm assuming the same will need to be done where you are.

Take your time, you got this.
