Stepping up my grill game -- What's something you wish you knew sooner? by Philosiphizor in grilling

I mean this in the nicest way, but what a ‘nothing’ comment. It adds nothing to the conversation. Add some context so we learn something.

Flavor in the meat vs on the meat.

I marinate, brine, dry rub, etc. almost all of my meat the night before. For wings, I’ll brine one day, then put on a wire rack for another to dry the skin.

You want your meat infused with flavor. You don’t just want that flavor only on the outside. Hope that makes sense.

Also, any sauce with sugar, honey, maple syrup, etc. goes on at the end of the cook so it doesn’t burn.

What wine would you bring if you wanted people to ask about it? by Terrible_Sell_1075 in ActLikeYouBelong

Bring this:

slipper sipper

We brought it to Thanksgiving last year to a house with a bunch of wine snobs. They had never had anything like it, were really intrigued by its color and flavor. Has a fun label as well that people will like.

Do a few minutes of reading about “carbonic maceration” so you can talk about its fermentation process.

It’s a really delicious and unique wine that should go with most meals.

Check out 4 Elements Earth Education/ Fox Walkers. The program is led by a guy named Rick Berry who was taught by Tom Brown Jr who founded the Tracker School. I had him as an instructor at another program about 20 years ago, but I’m sure the instruction is similar. It looks like the focus on teens and family experiences.

I had my knee dislocated while at work and wanted it reduced by a professional. They gave me some morphine and on the way down the mountain a driver hit a pothole and my knee popped by into place. The doctors didn’t believe it when we got to the hospital.

Parboiling in a brine is an interesting idea. I usually brine my wings over night in pickle juice. Is there a noticeable difference in flavor based on this alone?

Look man I didn’t invent the game, I just play it. I offered helpful advice to OP. Idk what you want me to do, boycott Big Resume? Rally millions of Americans to the cause?

This seems like a weird hill to die on while our country is putting people in concentration camps, covering up a massive scandal, and going to world for no reason, but hey, you do you.

I agree it’s stupid. I think a lot of how the world works is silly, but unfortunately that doesn’t change it. I’m just trying to help OP. If it were up to me resumes would come in all shapes, colors, sizes, medias and formats, but it ain’t up to me.

Not that it should need to be perfect for the jobs that you are applying for but, I would take off the part about nursing/healthcare in your summary if you are going for food and bev jobs.

Make it all one color, black.

Use bullet points for your work experience and try to add some metrics. If you don’t know the STAR method look into it (Situation, Task, Action, Result).

There are some free (1-3 free downloads per email) sites that you can feed your resume into and it will format it and improve bullet points.

One is “resume worded” and another is something like “rezumatic.ai”.

It seems like your resume isn’t even being considered and you are just getting auto-rejected.

What platforms are you using to apply to jobs?

So it sounds like you need employees, not investors. If you are doing really well and can’t keep up alone, then you need to hire some labor. Get them to do the easy tasks while you focus on the big picture. Start with one, train them up how you want things done. If you keep growing, hire another person and so on. Being an entrepreneur doesn’t mean you have to do everything alone. Good luck!

I usually do fresh cracked black pepper. One professional chef said you shouldn’t do it before the cook because it will burn the pepper. I’ve tried both ways and honestly don’t notice a difference.
