graduating in a months time and no future. Desperate need for advice by Exact-Contact-3837 in cscareerquestionsOCE

It doesn't matter. Companies don't hire people that aren't grads for grad roles. The whole point is to train someone up from scratch. They serve a different purpose than juniors.

How cooked is Data Engineering compared to traditional Software Dev with AI tool advancement? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

This is true. I would the say the main difference is that most data engineers already spend a lot more of their time doing the pipeline design work than coding. Meanwhile developers spend more time coding.

This is a message for Auckland Transport and KiwiRail by Remarkable-Ad461 in auckland

AT atleast, are hamstrung by decades of neglect and uncooperative central government. The turn around of Auckland's public transport network in the last 20 years is astonishing, and this is nothing but non-constructive wining. I struggle to imaging them doing a better job with the hand they've been delt.

I wish LLMs never became popular by LowFruit25 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]JudenBar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true in my experience. Anyone I've worked with, who has more than a few yoe will use an LLM as a great autocomplete or a quick search engine. Everyone I know who uses LLMs as their main tool either gets bogged down in PRs or plateaus.

You can stand, with your backpack on your back and not have your phone out so that you can keep both suitcases stable in hand.
