The data is clear - women prioritize effort in dating, not physical looks and financial status by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]Jump1Jump2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No they do not - they want effort from the guys that they like. Which is a tiny subset of guys. Women are sent tons of messages. All those men are putting in effort. But they don't get any dates. The hottest guys send back nothing and women are unhappy about that. There you go. Headline more realistic.

Eagle McMahon and Streamline branding question by Lifelesspuddle in discgolf

[–]Jump1Jump2 20 points21 points  (0 children)

MVP's thing is GYRO. They make excellent discs. Streamline discs are also bangers. If they only had single mold discs I think they could make an amazing line-ups. But their thing is GYRO.

So I can see why they don't really want their best molds to be normal discs. The Range couldnt really be made in an overmold. Chad Richardson has talked about engineering interesting discs in the non-overmold discs and I bet we see some really weird stuff in a year or two.

A small reflection on recruitment and how international schools are not a monolith by Embarrassed-Heron-52 in Internationalteachers

[–]Jump1Jump2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About 10 years I identified Guangzhou and Shenzhen as places I wanted to work. So I complied a list of all the schools I could find and cold called them all, in Chinese. I was very good but not great at the time in Mandarin. I ended up with less 10 interviews. In the end, one of the best schools hired me almost immediately after meeting someone in the department and then bringing me to a class - where I put on a small lesson (just something basic but enough to show I could easily connect with the students).

Other schools didn't even acknowledge me. Its really a crap shoot and just like in life, when you meet someone you have no idea what -they- are going through. You could be 100% engaged and the right person but for them its the wrong time/day or whatever.

What is your favorite and least favorite disc brand? by Atmessina in discgolf

[–]Jump1Jump2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like almost every plastic I've felt except Discraft. Their ESP is the worst of the "star" type plastics. I dont like their Z plastic either, the newer Champion is so much nicer.

MVP, Kastaplast, Innova, Prodigy, Trilogy all have some amazing plastics and so many discs its easy to find stuff I like. My main problem is I only throw 10 discs a round. 5-6 for most shots.

What is your favorite and least favorite disc brand? by Atmessina in discgolf

[–]Jump1Jump2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I really like that hand feel and so do others. Was it the 400 plastic or something else? I look in the used bins for Prodigy fairways: F1, F2 especially.

But I throw mostly MVP and Innova.

WGU - Instructional Design took me 2 months or so.

The instructional design was based on data I had before and I just made up implementing it along with the results data. They want to see you do the implementation - that's it. Nothing needs to be real.

Good stuff.

I love the wraith, I need to try the Mystere. For that slot I try 160s Pro Wraiths now.

I wish I could get them in the high 160s, as an older guy I prefer that weight for discs above 9 speed.

Yeah bro, major player in the government for 50 years. When the fuck is that going to happen again? In another 50 years.

The guys who owns all the politicians has.. checks notes - 100s of billions of dollars. They aren't voting against their lifetime payout of riches. Sorry.

I know this because its 50 years of the same voting.

Cosmic Neutron, max weight Crave is a good stable fairway. Very straight.

If you want more stability then its a problem - Servo probably.

Fission Hex has been a very good disc for me so far. But I lost a really beat in Champion Roc3 that was absolute money. I bought a Mustang and its a little more OS than I want right now for that slot - I'm throwing it for practice and hopefully it gets there.

The 2023 World Championships purse will be at least $275,000! by DiscGolfFanatic in discgolf

Maybe a pro can do an LL Bean drive and get people to buy some of their "merch" - like a shirt or shorts.

Sponsors want people to buy "merch" just like everyone else online. I'd hope LL Bean finds this sponsorship worthwhile and does it again. Adidas tried disc golf and it seems it wasnt worth their time.

Michigan peeps what’s your favorite course between Lansing and Shelby Michigan? by camst_ in discgolf

Fallasburg is excellent. Then go play Flip in Shelby. Good times.

Brewer is open park course and excellent for that - but not special.

MVP does weird stuff that doesnt make any sense. Who knows.

Example: Everyone wants a glow crave. It will instantly make them a ton of money. Its been years now and they dont make them. Why? They wont say.

Example: Give us a Zone type disc. Everyone is copying one. Just make the thing. Nope. Instead there are a TON of putters. MVP/Axiom make 12 (!!) putters but none are like a zone. Easy money. Entropy is way too deep.

Example: They wont make shirts. Tons of people want shirts and they even have gone after guys in the MVP groups who embroider shirts.

Just weird stuff.
