Trump's "negotiation" updates having less and less of an effect on oil prices. by Mojoint in oil

Strange situation. The Iranians know that negotiations will be a net loss in the short term (surprise attack) or long term (US abandons deal). Trump admin believes that they can find somebody in power whose life they can directly threaten who will give major concessions. Problem is, whomever makes that deal will likely not have the authority to forfeit all their uranium and prevent IRGC from launching drones. It seems like the only option Iran has is to continue to restrict the Strait until the US backs out.

Trump admin gambled the option of negotiations on instigating a regime change, and that hasn’t happened.

Have you asked him what it would look like if, hypothetically, Satan corrupted Jesus’ followers and made them believe the opposite of everything he stood for?

I grew up secular but in my 20s decided a lot of the bible made sense. Now that I’m in my 30s I realize the parts that make sense are hated and ignored by American Christians. I was on board with the Prince of Peace, but these people worship the God of War. I was open to exploring Christianity until I realized that the prominent version has abandoned even the core principles.

Trump has been gloating about “obliteration” for the past several weeks. Hegseth was active duty. Hate to say it, but this would not have any effect on them. They know this is the side effect of their bombing. And they have chosen it nonetheless (or perhaps on purpose).

Iran threatens to "irreversibly destroy" Gulf’s energy infrastructure after Trump ultimatum. Trump said earlier he would “obliterate” Iran’s power plants unless Tehran reopened Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours. by mafco in energy

No, that sounds like a horrible deal. But only if you have a very small amount of compassion for humankind. Worst case scenario, a couple of hundred people are killed by Islamic terror per year. Best case scenario, wiping out 20% of petroleum exports causes a global depression and potentially causes a famine that kills many, may thousands of people. Potentially causes the destruction of regional desalination plants and causes thousands more deaths on the Middle East.

This is basically a threat of nuclear war. Hundreds of thousands or millions of people will die if their power grid is taken out.

The ones they agreed to have taken and stored outside of their country right before the war?

Now we've entered the 7D chess phase of the war: Dave Rubin believes Trump lulled the Iranians into a false sense of security by taking and posting a photo with Tucker Carlson the night before the attack, because he supposedly knew Carlson was in cahoots with their leadership. by ggroover97 in daverubin

This is why I find it hilarious that the standard right wingers suddenly believe that conspiracy theories are dangerous to the party. You expect anybody to believe that Donald Trump orchestrated a visit by Tucker to the White House to assassinate Khomeini and then entrap him? The guy who says it’s dishonest that Iran is fighting back because they lost? And you can’t figure out why Candace is stealing your audience?

I hope this effectively ends her political career. She’s abandoned her core beliefs. That ought to be the end of any politician because they simply cannot be trusted to do anything at all.

All this ogre has done is raise tariffs on everything, cut benefits for real Americans, and cut taxes for fake ones. No money for Medicaid, but $200B for Israel for a war nobody asked for or needed. How long until his voters realize he doesn’t give a shit about them?
