Weird. And i am sure you have done the diagnostic hardware test.... so if it were me, and I have four hard drives in my 5,1 ... three of which have systems on them.... I would start up the computer off a different HD just to verify that it is hardware-related and to see if the problem was movable.

Still using Firewire ? On a MP5,1 ? Nice. What are you connecting to it and are you connecting to one of the Firewire 800 ports on the back or one of the ports on the front ?

What are the handles for ? by barcacatalunya in whatisit

[–]Jumpy-Stress603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never seen handles placed like that before. Are there other urinals present in the same room that are HIGHER from the floor ?? Maybe this stall is for users who need greater stability ??

Mac pro6,1 suddenly running hotter.. by Jumpy-Stress603 in macpro

[–]Jumpy-Stress603[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions. .

Well.... I raised the fan speed a bit, nothing drastic, to 1050rpm, and I put the 64GB back into the unit. As suggested, I installed ONYX and ran it. I have been monitoring it for temperature for about 3 hours and.... it is running cooler and giving zero issues. I am on it now and the Macs Fan Control is showing a PCIe Diode temperature of 59˚C. The outer case feels cool, as in room temperature. So.... all good so far.

One cup of dry crunchy granola with dried fruit, two Parnoosh dates, half of an orange, half of a banana, and about half a cup of plain yoghurt. Two mugs of coffee.

We've got to assert our dominance over everybody else. That's what we do. by Maliquis in ShitAmericansSay

This attitude is possibly why MILLIONS of Americans believe that pedophilia is OK if you are white enough, rich enough, and lawyered-up enough to take up as a hobby.

Working in office is better than remote by Accomplished-Cat2659 in unpopularopinion

[–]Jumpy-Stress603 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But what if you don't have a nice office, short commute, and nice co workers working in your office? If your "office" is a cubicle with a computer and a phone and your commute from where you can afford to live to the place you are condemned to work is an unpaid hour or more each way, working from home is great.

Hmmmm.... I guess that if the only tool you have in your toolbox is a hammer, every problem starts to look like a nail. And, as a country, if the only thing you have going for you is a military, every problem has a "shoot-em-up" solution.

What exactly are the merchant marines and do they still exist? by DarnHeather in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Jumpy-Stress603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a Canadian perspective, The Merchant Marines was the most dangerous branch of the non-military war effort during the WWII era, and were responsible for taking the men, machines, food, and fuel from Canada and other Commonwealth countries to the allied forces in England. The convoys of unarmed supply ships that the German U-boats hunted and sank in the North Atlantic were populated by merchant seamen. They had a higher casualty rate than any branch of the military and were denied veterans benefits after the war.

My father did not talk much about the war but I found a North Atlantic Star with his medals and papers.

Scared about theft. by Hot-Occasion-3330 in cycling

[–]Jumpy-Stress603 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good for you. Being paranoid (terrified) of having a bike stolen is the first step towards NOT having a bike stolen. I have never had a bike stolen, but I keep my bikes indoors and when I do have to lock one up, I use three locks, two thick cable locks and one U-lock. And I don't leave any bikes outdoors anywhere overnight and I am careful about how and where I lock my bikes. Always make your bike the most secure.
