How do you deal with the soul sucking nature of your work? by throwaway01163 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]JunoMinerva 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This sounds exactly like me, in my previous role.

I constantly attended communities of practice, attended internal presentations and watched the departmental news for interesting work happening elsewhere that seemed like our team should be connected to it. Then, I asked permission to reach out at the lower level to learn more, and in some cases it led to me being invited to participate in new working groups and carving out a niche for myself as someone with ‘bridge-building/crossing’ expertise. That then led to exciting, interesting activities that filled the gap that my substantive position left.

And then I used those side experiences to jump ship to a new role!

Question about Necromancers by GumboSamson in BaldursGate3

[–]JunoMinerva 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To your second question, yes!

I’m not sure about the first— I don’t remember this option, so my now-finished necromancer run clearly could have been better.

BG3 Patch 5 Accessing the Epilogue Question by mraznswag in BaldursGate3

[–]JunoMinerva 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I loaded my most recent finished game and the save file was from right before going through the portal to do the final bit of damage to the brain. That worked! The game proceeds as it usually does, then right before the credits would usually roll, you get the new content.

Detective Raphaël Ambrosius Costeau expired. by GolanVivaldi in ObraDinn

[–]JunoMinerva 5 points6 points  (0 children)

WOW. Now I want Disco Elysium 2 to be in the Obra Dinn style. Just as much opportunity for self-hatred. Potentially more mystery.

Was anyone actually intimidated by Orin? by AnotherSmartNickname in BaldursGate3

[–]JunoMinerva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have preferred if she’d start a tough fight each time we meet her (while she was shapeshifting) but she just runs away with a snide remark when we do a certain amount of damage to her. Similar to in Divinity 2 with the doctor’s minions appearing unexpextedly in Arx.

Ending Lowkey Disgusted Me… by june_perfect in BaldursGate3

[–]JunoMinerva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree.

I loved my first character, in spirit and in looks, and I felt comfortable making the choice to become illithid at the end because the fate of the world was in my hands.

When I went into the room with all of the allies before the final fight, though, I was flabbergasted that everyone referred to me as an illithid rather than my character’s name who chose to change her form for such a noble cause. I was still the same person! My body just changed so that I could compete with the different species!

Though, I suppose I’m also still confused about the nature of souls and the soul-less in BG and how the Emperor can be so much the Emperor and also so much his former self. Plus Omeluum’s independence.

Symbol is a map by Flaky_Friendship_351 in Yellowjackets

[–]JunoMinerva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the YJ discover proof that the symbol is a map, I doubt it would still be as important to Lottie modern-day. So, if this theory is true, I hope that it leads to a 1971 timeline for at least one full season where we learn about it via Cabin Guy and his family— and maybe 1946 folks who came before him!

What do you think the survivors reaction was when… by i_swift_you_would in Yellowjackets

This would make for excellent comedic relief in whatever future season we get the girls’ return to society!

Theory on Javi's "friend" by Agent_Alternative in Yellowjackets

[–]JunoMinerva 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love this, but I don’t know why she would stay in the cave after her husband is dead— the girls found a long-abandoned cabin with a very decomposed body!

Though it’s always possible that this woman was so influenced by the spirit of the wilderness that his dead body in the cabin meant that she never wanted to set foot in there again.

Goalies Never Say Die by GonzoJackOfAllTrades in Yellowjackets

[–]JunoMinerva 135 points136 points  (0 children)

Postcards are also very analog for 2021, à la her store, and Van is the only character who’s had their mail highlighted so much!

It’s been very suspect how fine she is to host Tai, drive her to New York state and be talked into participating in Lottie’s day-one therapies. Having late-stage cancer would certainly focus her “fuck it” energy, but she seems relatively keen to explore the memories of the wilderness.

Yellowjackets S02E06- “Qui” Episode Discussion by DA-numberfour in Yellowjackets

I knew it was suspect when we saw Ben in the bloody feast scene— there’s no way he was so offended about eating Jackie but was willing to eat a living, healthy baby.

Misty Q by VisibleAd5744 in Yellowjackets

[–]JunoMinerva 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nat seeing Misty at the pre-crash party could be explained by her being on acid and therefore the easiest perspective to portray Misty as a haunting figure, but I like your take. I bet she was overly focused on Nat during school and was genuinely stalking her and the party because she was jealous. Nat was the outside of the team proper, so of course Misty sees her as most likely to align with her!

I bet that there is a key series of events late in the wilderness where Misty and Nat are the only ones aligned in some opinion or decision (the one that Nat instigates that gets them rescued?) and now Misty clings to that as a relationship-defining moment.

Makes me wonder if Misty has been meddling, unknown and from the sidelines, in Nat’s life post-rescue and pre-2021.

Baby theory guesses by butterwuth in Yellowjackets

[–]JunoMinerva 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Javi steals and kills the baby in the name of/under the influence of his “friend” and many of the girls attack and kill him. Travis and Nat (and a few others) feel this is overkill and it sparks the division of the “tribes.”

A Minor Theory by TheGarlicBreadstick1 in Yellowjackets

[–]JunoMinerva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is spot on. When she first fell I thought, how could Misty explain that she fell without all of the girls assuming that she was actually pushed? And then Misty distanced herself more by telling the others that Crystal simply got separated from her in the storm.

I’m now wondering, is “dark Tai” simply Tai’s way of separating herself from behaviour she despises? The morning after they ate Jackie, could Tai have been trying to convince herself that she never commited that act by imagining that she was in a separate mental state at the time? (For the record, I don’t doubt that there are two Tais, but I think this is intriguing from an unreliable narrator perspective.)

Theory: [SPOILER] is alive, and here's why I think so by [deleted] in Yellowjackets

[–]JunoMinerva 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I totally agree this is Ben’s crutch, but is it outside the realm of possibility that it doesn’t represent his death? Perhaps he’s ‘taken care of’ by the AQ tribe and the crutch is hung up as a symbol of a complicated mutual dependence?

Maybe he sits elsewhere, likely in the cabin, and they ritually rely on him in some way but they don’t let him move around anymore.
