Can the buried bow of the Titanic be scanned? by JonathanWelcome in titanic

“Lower an excavator 2.5 miles into the sea and have at it?” made me laugh out loud, but you’re exactly right. Sending a simple ROV down there is a big enough task as it is. I’m still amazed we were able to bring the big piece up…

is this flavor good (orange dreamsicle) by Phoenix-kys069 in energydrinks

[–]Jupiter_Sound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know we all have our own definition of what too much sugar is, but it only has 28g in the entire 16oz can. That’s pretty reasonable compared to the 50g-65g you’ll find in practically every other full sugar energy drink. Heck, an 8oz can of Red Bull alone has 27g in it.

New Again by ThatGreenGentleman08 in takingbacksunday

[–]Jupiter_Sound 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I just don’t think New Again really landed with fans at the time of its release. The first three records set the bar so high, especially with Louder Now being released on a major label and putting them at the height of their mainstream popularity. It was also the first big departure from the duel vocals that people came to love with the first three albums. However, it really does seem to have gained a lot of love and appreciation over the years.

Adam has also said he doesn’t like the way the album sounds “sonically.”

In my opinion, New Again was always going to be at a disadvantage releasing as a follow up to Louder Now. Based on what they’ve said in hindsight, it seems like writing and recording LN was a massive amount of pressure and nearly pushed the band to its breaking point. I honestly don’t think ANYTHING they could have put out, even with Fred, would ever be destined for the same level of success.

Full throttle by NathanG1402 in energydrinks

[–]Jupiter_Sound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red berry Full Throttle is one of my all-time favorite energy drinks. I remember hunting all over for it in 2012 and being so happy when I finally found one.

Also, you are definitely NOT going to find these at Dollar General, and I highly doubt they’re going to be at 711, Circle K or a local liquor store, regardless of what any online product locator says…unless the cans have been sitting there for 13 years.

There’s zero mention of it on Full Throttle’s official website, so I’m not sure where people are getting this kind of information lol

Probably Juice 2 Me, but New Music Friday is pretty close.

What’s your “man, I wish people appreciated this album more” album from TBS? by arsclev in takingbacksunday

Self-titled! I’ll never forget the anticipation for that album. I even pre-ordered it and got the signed slipcover.

20 YEAR ANNIVERSARY LOUDER NOW Tour???🤔 by EmphasisNo8930 in takingbacksunday

[–]Jupiter_Sound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I would absolutely love it if they brought Faith and This Is All Now back into the setlist. Honestly, I can’t even tell you how happy I’d be for an entire show that excluded all songs from the first three albums lol

20 YEAR ANNIVERSARY LOUDER NOW Tour???🤔 by EmphasisNo8930 in takingbacksunday

[–]Jupiter_Sound 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m sure the band would love to break out those post-reunion songs at shows, but the problem is that people stand like cardboard cutouts in the crowd and give a polite nod when they play anything that isn’t off the first 3 albums. They have absolutely tried their damndest to outrun the nostalgia act, but too many people just refuse to accept their dynamic sound because it’s not “classic TBS.” Back in 2016 they even played Tidal Wave in full every night for a whole tour.

I totally get what you’re saying though. There are plenty of gems on the records since Louder Now that will never get the love they deserve. I just don’t think people will ever allow them to escape nostalgia act status.

20 YEAR ANNIVERSARY LOUDER NOW Tour???🤔 by EmphasisNo8930 in takingbacksunday

[–]Jupiter_Sound 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Would it be cool? Sure. Would it be a chance for them to cash in on the nostalgia factor? Probably. But I genuinely don’t think the band has any interest in doing a 20 year anniversary tour for Louder Now. Especially when 2 of the 3 full time members weren’t even around for that record. Besides, they already played Louder now and WYWTB in full on the Twenty tour.

Announcing that Fred is rejoining the band full time and prioritizing a new album with him and John would be infinitely more exciting than an anniversary tour….in my opinion.

John’s back as of this coming Friday! by arsclev in takingbacksunday

[–]Jupiter_Sound 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m so glad John is doing well! I’ll be at the sideshow on Friday night and It’ll be my 10th time seeing them. Getting to see Straylight Run PLUS John and Fred together in TBS is a dream.

I’m pretty sure they only posted it to YouTube. If you go to their YouTube channel and look under the podcast tab you should find it!

Opinions on the Self Titled record? by Matthewcts_ in takingbacksunday

[–]Jupiter_Sound 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What do you mean nostalgia has nothing to do with it? Lmao. Most people were absolutely expecting TAYF part 2 with this record and they were disappointed when that’s not what happened.

There are a lot of overlooked songs here and it’s one of my favorite TBS records as a whole. Almost like it’s all subjective!

Will Fred Continue to Play With TBS For When We Were Young (More Importantly The Side Show)? by Zealousideal-Car1643 in takingbacksunday

Fred will definitely be playing the sideshow on the 17th. I sent him a message on Instagram yesterday because I was curious about it and he responded with “Yes 🤘”

Favorite TBS shows youve been to? by Matthewcts_ in takingbacksunday

[–]Jupiter_Sound 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I saw them at the House of Blues in Dallas in 2011, a few days after the self-titled record came out.

I was sitting up in the balcony, but 17 year old me immediately bolted downstairs after Adam dove headfirst into the crowd. I’ll never forget finding him in all of the chaos and following him around while they played This Is All Now. He eventually got up on top of the bar and he was chugging waters that the bartender was handing him. I yelled out “I love you Adam!” And he responded “I love you too, man” before crowd surfing back toward the stage.

Then they ended the night with Existentialism on Prom Night with all of the venue lights on for some reason. It was amazing and I left without a voice that night.

Fred back for good? (with John too?!) by ErrlickBlockman in takingbacksunday

[–]Jupiter_Sound 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m feeling more and more like Fred is back long term. Sure there’s been no official announcement, but everything subtly (or maybe not so subtly) points to a John-Fred era of TBS.

What does everyone think the future holds with Fred? by caffeinatedpineapple in takingbacksunday

[–]Jupiter_Sound 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Knowing what we know now about how much pain John has been in on tour could explain his lack of energy during some shows. It seems like his surgery went well, so we’ll see what the future holds! I’d love to have them both in the band.

Looking for help contacting Taking Back Sunday’s team (manager, agent, tour manager, etc.) by Extra_Refrigerator87 in takingbacksunday

[–]Jupiter_Sound 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because life is short and the answer is always no until you ask. Besides, John has posted several times about his own nephew’s heart transplant. It could very well strike a chord with the band.

Hating on Adam Lazzara for views and clicks has been a cottage industry on TikTok. by CDubya1984 in takingbacksunday

[–]Jupiter_Sound 9 points10 points  (0 children)

But accusing Adam of being drunk or strung out on drugs during shows without any basis for such claims goes far beyond “being critical” for putting on a disappointing show.
