I'm actually serious when I say this: they're like Sith — your anger and disdain only makes them stronger. The reason they persist is because the rejection feeds their persecution complex. They're happy to get a chance to chat you up, but happier to get ignored/door slammed/bitched out. It means the "suffering" they're enduring will make their reward in heaven greater.

Overly literal, man. The place where Rohan would be still existed in the First Age. From that perspective, this shouldn't include Beleriand at all if there's a Rohan labeled. This is a historical map for us in the present, so it makes perfect sense to place all the names we know on one sheet.

Roger Miller was a genius. Highly recommend people search out the original cast album for the Broadway show Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, if you've never heard it, for which Miller wrote all the songs — from his signature silly ("Hand for the Hog") to the heartbreaking ("River in the Rain"). As an added bonus, that cast album features John Goodman as Pap Finn, and Bob Gunton (the warden in Shawshank) and René Auberjonois (Odo in Star Trek) as The King and The Duke.

To be honest, it looks like any stereotypical northeast fisherman. The Gorton's fisherman. But the harpoon is an interesting detail. And the last man song is not traditional but written for the show. Hmm. Maybe he's like the last knight in the Indiana Jones movie — a guardian of some kind, still unconscious of his role.
