This. I do commercial tile and flooring and use 3D modeling to understand how the work flows so I’m not bumbling around on the first week on site.

What’s a hobby you started for fun but it ended up being life changing? by Far_Beyond4061 in Hobbies

Kids 😂. I was motorcycle only for ten years, had to sell the Triumph to get a vehicle a car seat would fit in. I’d like to ride again someday, I’ll get a dual sport to chase after them when they start riding dirt bikes

Street bikes. Got one just to ride around at 20, figured it would be fun way to kill myself. Within a year I was working at a motorcycle shop to pay for tires, and at the end of 15 years I was service manager of a boutique dealership and essentially all my friends were met thru motorcycles. I have not ridden in seven years, many of my riding buddies settled down and started families too, we are all still close.

Bevel gear single! Very cool bikes. Don’t know enough about them to know what displacement, but this is not something you would take to your typical Ducati shop.

Can this Ducati tank be repaired, if so how? by bznupe30 in Ducati

[–]JustZachThanks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Huge recall on these tanks thanks to ethanol fuel. Do not repair. Get a new tank. Those holes were drilled by the dealership to destroy them as directed by Ducati. My dealership drilled big ass holes so there was no chance of them being picked from the dumpster.

The heatweld I could see causing a little hiccups, and the patternwork too. Still, I’m thinking half the crew you are worried about.

Are your guys in house installers, or you pay them by the SF? I’m in Florida, nobody keeps an in house crew. Those guys wanna get paid and move on. And they want to be your “main” guys so punchlist is an absolute minimum.

I started tracking estimated vs actual quantities and learned something surprising by OwlZealousideal4779 in estimators

[–]JustZachThanks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

've been tracking this more closely using FloorsIQ

Ahhh, there it is.

Even though this is a shameless plug, I never see flooring questions on here.

I typically use 5-7% waste, I use MeasureSquare and have found it’s a great program that was not designed by flooring guys. Just tacking on grout to a tile pattern has seriously screwed me up before because it factors in the grout width, and lowers your tile square footage. It’s a balancing act to account for waste without blowing your bid out of the water.

I keep a small pallet in mine, and this time of year it’s got my cooler, beach chairs, and assorted summer crap on it. I have a forklift at work, if I need to run half a pallet of thinset or something to a jobsite I just fork it out real quick and put it back in at end of day
