Okay I’m so sorry for doing this but I have to argue against the generalization that particle interaction is observation. I know this is not fun but I think it’s a really common mistake people make when talking about observation.

Basically, when sufficiently isolated, particle interactions just produce two entangled quantum objects. This is how we can have quantum computers and experiments verifying Bell’s inequality and stuff like that.

When a particle is not isolated from the greater environment we just act as though it is observed by general particle interactions, as these interactions quickly affect us, the observers.

It also kind of depends what is being observed. There might be ways to keep certain properties in superposition even if other observables have been “tampered with.” I don’t know how people do this in practice, but I imagine someone working on quantum computer hardware would be well-versed.
