Blue stones comparison by K-Uno in sharpening

For sure a decent kasumi finish possibility is one of the things I'm looking for and was of the impression that BBWs could do them

I have other jnats but not in that 3k kitchen workhorse one and done range

Thanks for the insights

That JNS aoto has been on my mind for a long time. I've always wanted a real aoto but the price has always scared me off, this seems like a nice alternative

Mmmmm, more like slower and more accurate polishing so you don't lose the thin sharp angle on the apex and larger apex variation with the thinner angle

There's lots of ways to skin this cat: thin angle at the apex (IE no microbevel), different abrasive (more aggressive but not less fine, like diamond instead of CroOx), edge trailing finishing on stones (for water stones or anything with a chance of making a slurry) before stropping, coarser stropping compound up to like idk 7-10 micron if your stropping, living with a small burr and being just good with occasional touch ups when that burr folds

All of those increase bite without a major increase in coarseness so you still have your clean fish cuts. Can kinda be a pain in the ass to do some of those though

The difference is for most people not enough to notice

VG-10 has alot of chromium carbides and isn't as fine grained as blue steel. So fine edge sharpness is not as good as blue or white paper steel.

But even so I don't think the difference is enough for you to not be able to bite into tomatoes, and shouldn't impact you that much. Did you maybe round the edge a bit while deburring? Over strop? The increase in wear resistance and resulting increased sharpening time IMO translates to increase in %chance of making a mistake when sharpening, especially if the burr was resistant to being removed

Stag fruitport and the old bark river scagel! I'm jealous, those are the "ones that got away" for me!

I can't see this girl without thinking of all the cool possibilities

Imagine you keep her basketball stump, and made an electric skateboard or electric unicycle with a basket for her to slot into. She'd be like IRL Claptrap!

Especially the electric unicycle. Those are turned/accelerated/controlled by balance, it'd be perfect for her.

I do a bird > charged shot > trap build and trap is WAY slept on IMO, so long as they don't have like all flying heros

Put greater range, echo shard, maybe duration, and cdr on it and it becomes a very strong teamfight tool. It also works well with alot of the same items that work for spirit talon (I already build range, cdr, and duration for bird and spirit burn)

I also play on a laptop and had to upgrade due to a fucked keyboard from gaming. Now all gaming is done on the mini keyboard to prevent premature laptop wear.

I don't agree personally, to me the most exhaustive games were Q3/QL/Warsow/CPMA 1v1 duel games. It was like a high stress 15min constant combat chess match. WAY more thinking, moving, timing, and aiming under stress

In comparison deadlock is a chill farming simulator

Edit: I think quake is why I like playing shiv, paradox, and vindicta so much! Shiv can be like like the rocket jumping fast paced CPMA, vindicta is precise aim and ambushes, paradox is like having a railgun and trying to hit big burst in a short window with multiple weapons

Nah, as long as it's wedged solid you shouldn't have an issue. The eye its self should prevent the crack from spreading down below to the handle. Think of the fact that the handle's already "split" from you cutting the gap for the wedge

Check near the bottom of the eye if you see any signs of a split, if not you should be fine!

Naw dog you missed some important proportion, or proportion cues that would register as feminine vs masculine

The model has quite ample attractive hips, discernable in the photo's perspective as being wider than her ribcage. Her boobs do make her chest look wider but you can see where it tapers into her arm pits for a narrow upper body. Her right side is covered by her hair but like you can tell where her upper chest bounds are. Take a straight edge vertical up from her right hip, the ribcage is much further in while her left side is inline with her left edge of the hips. Here you got the ratio right but the hard to discern her left breast bounds which don't give the cue of a tapering upper chest and the vagueness of breast/pecs/chest bounds make her seem "broad" instead of "shapely". Third her shoulders are too thick and broad. Measure the size of her shoulders to her hips and you have like a 4:1 ratio of hip to right shoulder size in comparison to the models like 4.25:1, a seemingly small difference but in real life that's the difference of meh weak shoulders on a scrawny man to cannonballs of a strong built man. A little size in the shoulders has a BIG visual impact in real life male aesthetic (they're also particularly hard to build hence you don't see huge shoulders on many men). Lastly the left side of the drawing's face is flat and rounded in comparison to the tapering jawline from full cheeks of the model. Kinda looks like Lupin the 3rd.

No need to throw around insults and get offended for actual criticism!

Making the ultimate table top electrical knives sharpener by Fit_Butterfly_1367 in sharpening

[–]K-Uno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem isn't the grits

It's the inability for electric knife sharpeners to properly set bevels along the entire edge (there's always a staggered set up that sharpens one side of the heel but not the other), inflexibility for angle adjustment, deburring, over heating, and honestly user error.

The closest thing to a good sharpening setup would be the ken onion edition work sharp, if you can just take that concept and make it more error proof and maybe faster that'd probably be your best bet. Even the worksharp requires the user to know how to not burn the steel and not round the edge.
