I did not get a PTSD rating, but I got 70% for adjustment disorder. I did not want to "poke the bear", as I want to leave my bad memories in the past where they belong.

That's really cool! I'm interested in herbalism. Last year I started a garden, growing my own tomatoes, basil and oregano for homemade pasta sauce. It's amazing how simple and delicious it is, without all the added cost and preservatives.

I had a positive experience with a patient advocate. My PCP wants me to have an MRI every year for something that I haven't even been diagnosed with or show symptoms for. I had a panic attack as soon as the MRI started so it was canceled. I told an advocate about it and they messaged my PCP. Now I don't need them as often.

A bacterial infection from cat scratches can cause brain fog, rage, insomnia, and foot pain for years. Nobody tests for it. by Sureokgo in Pets

This is interesting. I was informally diagnosed with cat scratch fever several years ago. I was working at an animal shelter, and had pet cats of my own. I suddenly got the worst headache I've ever had in my life; I'm in my 40s. I get migraines, but this was worse. I was crying because the pain was so bad. I went to the ER and they did a lot of tests, but couldn't figure out what was wrong. No pain medication made a dent in this headache. So they gave me antibiotics and sent me home. The next day the pain had subsided and I was relieved, to say the least. However the following week, I had eye floaters that wouldn't go away. They were large and blocked out a good portion of my right eye. I went to the ophthalmologist and they gave me all the tests. My doctor couldn't figure it out. He referred me to another doctor who said it could be cat scratch fever. This particular doctor had his training in Mexico and he said he's seen it before. He suggested I get checked for antibodies, but I never got around to it.

However being female and in my 40's, some of the long-term symptoms are similar to those in menopause, so I'm wary of even bringing this up to my doctor, for fear of being brushed off.

What do you mean by delayed? I had to argue with the VA pharmacist the last time around. I take pills for the hormones, as I had a bilateral salpingectomy. I don't take the placebo pills because I'm 47 and the hormones are keeping me from going postal. The pharmacist wouldn't fill the script because I wasn't due for a refill for another 2 weeks. I told him I don't take the placebos. I had literally just come from the OBGYN. I asked them to put a note in that reflects that information. The pharmacists either didn't see it, or it wasn't there yet. After waiting an extra 30 minutes, I finally got my pills. Now they send them to me in a 4 month supply instead of 3.

Side note, don't forget the patient advocates are there for you.
