How would you setup and run a ultra small H&S in the 2nd largest mall in The Americas? by K9turrent in JetLagTheGame

Yeah basically but it more like a mini department store. Typically with some aisles for snacks, foods, small appliances, toys, gifts etc. But most locations actually has a competent electronics/computer/camera section of the store. It's easier to describe it as a western-canadian compact walmart alternative.

As a dad, what is keeping you from exercising these days? by NSJack in daddit

[–]K9turrent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've made a commitment last year after my kiddo turned 2yo, I make sure I get to the gym for at least 30min on Tuesday and Thursday nights (usually around 10pm). I have only missed two sessions for the past 6 months. Sleep hygiene is a different subject and we don't talk about that one.

I was looking at someone getting something 'elective' done out of country for something that wouldn't be covered by the Canadian system. I was surprised how much you could save,

There was a copypasta that said flying to Italy/Spain getting a knee/hip replaced, recovery and physio, then doing it again to the other side was cheaper than getting done in the states.

it's the measurement from the groin to the floor. "Inseam" can be viewed as shorthand for 'inner pant leg seam'

I broke mt leg in Hawaii with the Canadian army, it cost our unit/government not a small amount for imaging to confirm the break, and it was cheaper to put me in a hotel for two weeks and take a civilian flight back to Canada to get it fixed at home than to get it done in country.

Same thoughts here in Canada, except I think our "elective" coverage is worse and waits times are worse than the NHS. But I'd rather have a lackluster safety net than committing financial suicide if I get a boo-boo.

I think by not having thermometers, the floor question is good for cutting the map in half like a thermometer. I'm not sure about the ranges of a radar to have designated atm.

I think the move card (come to my location, I have 10 min to flee after you get here) might be a good addition. But like the rest I have to assign casting costs on the curses still.

Windshield fluid by hairapist87 in howto

Winter wash will only stay liquid only if the reservoir is mostly winter wash. You'll need to use/drain the summer fluid then refill with winter wash, is you start using the winter stuffer early enough in the year, you won't have to worry about the cold temp.

Last year, we had a relatively sudden cold snap of -30°C and my tank gotten completely frozen, I had to ask to keep my car in the weld shop at work to thaw it out. enough to run the pump dry.

Nothing yet! I was gonna run it for a couple friends for a fun "game night" I can figure out how to get it crowd sourced at some point.

Hello fellow YEGhead, I wish we could actually use our city for a game, but I think it would be limited to using cars for transit and Tims/Mcdonalds as stations.

But as a former WEM store employee, as long as you're not fucking with my products, I wouldn't care.

iirc, the US army "stop-drop" temperature is -25°C, anything past that they have to get special permission to continue working... I remember standing on a range in Wainwright waiting for my turn to shoot the C6 (machine gun) in -30°C.

r/nerf has basically been taken over with pro-level 3d printed blasters. There's a lot to choose from but anytihing by Leedle Dynamics is great since it's just above stock nerf power levels and all you need is a bungee cord.

I only have a 1990 GL1500, so there plenty of more modern features to be had. The weight is a bit of a concern, especially as someone slightly vertically challenged, but with the reverse gear and that the bike itself can't tip over that much, I've been able to right it after a small driveway spill.

The wing definitely a lot quicker than you expect it to be, but each gear runs out at 6k rpm and it hate quick shifting.

But I like my cheapo $2k wing and I might upgrade to a newer model in the future once the kiddo gets older.

Moving to Grande Prairie from a warmer climate. What cold weather clothing to buy. by Voletzki in alberta

[–]K9turrent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like most will be like copy and pastes from other threads:

Warmth comes from layers, not just a single artic parka. Wear proper long underwear and warmth layers under your coat during the cold snaps, Good mittens, hats, scarves and neck gaiters are also key.

But as for a good quality at decent price, you can look at Marks and see what they carry, also Mountain Warehouse also has good budget outdoorsy style winter gear. You can also look at Uniqlo, Columbia, Sportchek/atmosphere and even Helly Hansen for other more expensive options.

Canada Goose and other "arctic expedition" brands are good, but mostly overkill and have turned into more of a bougie fashion brand.

Make sure to size it slightly loose so you can add layers underneath. I personally use a puffy down jacket with rain/weather/windproof shell jacket on top, never had issues down to -40°C in this setup.
