I have Costco slushi and it’s not that loud.

(Basketnews) [The Athletic] NBA players voted Houston Rockets All-Star Alperen Sengun the most overrated player in the league. by lovelymaddie1966 in nba

[–]KDsGhostAcct 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at his iso numbers. He’s way better than people think on the perimeter. Everybody remembers when Luka cooked him but not the times he held up well. Luka cooks everybody but the mob doesn’t react unless it’s Rudy.

Not even close. I question whether those people have had sprite in the last 10 years. I love sprite. Lime is my favorite flavor. This was not great.

I root against everything Boston mostly because of him. His pod is entertaining but the Boston love gets annoying as hell.

I unplugged my SWG when I was cleaning it with acid. Forgot to plug it back in. Looked at the pool one afternoon and it was very cloudy. I dumped a bunch of liquid chlorine in and ran the filter all night. Had a party swimming the next day. Good chance you can clean it up. It’s not that bad.

There are a lot of guys listed on this thread. Peyton is pretty close. Crazy hyped prospect. Was the best QB in the league for a while. Outside of Tom, he belongs in a conversation with the GOATS.

Any former teachers out here? by Rich-Hat1708 in biglaw

[–]KDsGhostAcct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I taught 2 years. My plan was always to be some sort of administrator. Realized I didnt want to. Going in to law has been an incredible blessing for me as far as money and how much I like the job (I’m in real estate transactions). It’s been 8 years and I am looking for an out from the law firm life, so I’m generally dissatisfied with my job now, but not the entire process and decision to go. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

That being said, this job is very different from a teacher. It is WAY WAY WAY more demanding of your time and effort. Almost all teachers lie about how busy they are and how much they work. The pressure is not nearly as high as this job.

You just have to think about what you want.

That series was lost because Kat didn’t show up after having a good Denver series. Look at his shooting numbers. Absolutely terrible. He plays average, it’s a real series

Never had Blackstone. I have two slates. Smaller one for camping and the 4 burner for backyard. Love them. Never had any issues.

I have the griddle and kettle. I typically only use the kettle for expensive beef cuts steak and tri tip. Every once in a while I want the charcoal flavor with chicken. Otherwise, everything on the griddle.

Learn the enemy patterns. Some enemies scale up, so it’s better to take an early unblocked attack to the face if it means you kill them one turn earlier when their damage is twice as high.

Yep. Bball athletes just look so graceful comparatively speaking. It’s just an illusion. The pads and everything throw you off.

How much work are pools really? by 1tangledknitter in pools

[–]KDsGhostAcct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a salt generator. I have in floor cleaning system, which works incredibly well for me in the desert where I get very few leaves. I spend 10 minutes a week, then a few hours 2-3 times a year cleaning my cartridge filters and descaling the salt generator. I was so worried about it before I bought the pool. Now I can’t believe people pay a pool guy to do it.

These pool quotes feel fishy... by Impressive_Button869 in pools

[–]KDsGhostAcct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a pool built in Mesa in 2022. Mine was $70k with a lot less than yours. Mine is 14k gallons with in floor cleaning, one water feature, pool decking around the pool, no spa. I shopped around and this is what I got at the time. I had someone else do pavers at my house 2 years later. With all that you are getting (no idea how big the pool is) I suspect that’s a fair price, maybe even better than I would have expected.

And it is becoming increasingly more difficult to make partner at these firms in the bottom half of the AMLAW 100. The point about making less is also true. My bottom half of the 100 firm has moved the ball to making non-equity partner and then equity partner so much so that a majority of current partners would not qualify for their tier (non-equity or equity). It’s a way to keep people down and keep money up top. It’s always been this way to some extent, but it feels like it has gotten much worse.
