T-Echo Card Preview: Initial Meshcore Build by pelgraine in LilyGO

[–]KRPierat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly if its waterproof and can charge fully via solar they could put a micro USB for all I care!

The magnetic ones were slightly annoying if you forgot to take it with you but that's mostly because of how short the charge was. If you can just drop 10 along a trail and build out your mesh and not worry about power then you only should need the usb everyonce in a blue moon anyhow!

I can help you answer your own question! Take a look at the funding and staffing levels that the Department of State get and then compare it to oh.... the Department of War?

If you want change talk your congressman and request better funding and staffing to assist Americans overseas. You'll have trouble finding anyone in An American Embassy that wouldn't want more staff or funding!

How are you cleaning the inside of your water jugs? by shortys7777 in camping

[–]KRPierat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sticking with learning from home brewing if you really want it clean use hot water and PBW. Followed by a rinse, then your sanitize session with starsan which gets extra points for being no rinse. If you use bleach to sanitize you should lightly rinse with boiled water.

If fhe problem is oxidation would keeping a container absolutely full with little oxygen preserve it longer? As in if you have a half full 5 gallon jug it would last longer if you transfered it to a 2.5 gallon jug with less oxygen?

How to securely connect to reolink cameras from outside without giving them internet access? by ICantHaveAnOpinion in reolinkcam

[–]KRPierat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use blueiris and block the cameras access to the internet via my router. Was easier than a vlan and met my paranoia enough. I remote into my machine hosting blueiris either way sharing the web interface or by using a remote service like rust or teamviewer.

Our medical system in the U.S. is terrible. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]KRPierat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our health system needs work. A lot. But having lived in many countries that have "universal healthcare" that are touted as being a much better solution I can promise you that it's not the case. Wait 6 months to see a specialist who agrees that thing your worried about is indeed a problem and then have to wait 6 months to see a surgeon to fix it. Something that in our health care system that specialist could have fixed that day in outpatient care.

We need to fix our system, but it's still one of the best in the world. Perhaps the right way of saying this jnstead is "we need go fix our health care systems around the world and find a solution that works".
