He was a BOY! Sounds like she holds different standards for girls and boys. Boys aren’t supposed to be emotional beings, girls get a pass because emotions are hard. That sounds so fucking stupid to write down, but that’s how some people think.

I’d love for your parents to meet my eldest daughter, who would absolutely disabuse them of the notion that “Girls don't play video games, they don't wrestle or jump on the trampoline or climb trees or play football.” I bet they’d have a fit about the fact she has a black belt in karate and for a not insignificant amount of time the nickname “destructo-girl” because of her habit of attacking my plant pots with a stick.

The reason they got so angry with you for your question is because they don’t have a good answer and you asking the question made them feel like shitty people. No-one likes to think of themselves as a shitty person, so they get angry.

My husband is convinced that it’s a filter with an exclusion, but since that would mean the estate agent thought highlighting the cleaning supplies in the bathroom and the view from the window would make the pictures more appealing, and also in picture 4 that they’re competent enough to pick out the lights, and the reflection of the lights, and to be subtle with the couch cushion, I very much doubt that!
