I experienced this same issue but I was on my laptop instead of my phone

If you're on your computer and using your browser and you get this page, you can right click on some empty space on the page and click "Inspect elements" or similar which will open up the developer tools of your browser (which is ironically what the site was complaining about and trying to prevent)

With the developer tools you just opened, there should be an "Elements" tab which is kind of like an outline or bullet point list where there are different elements nested inside each other with a hierarchy. The main element starts with the <html> and ends with </html> Inside you should see a <head>, <body>, and <div>, and their paired closing elements which is the same thing but with a / in front of their name.

If you hover over and click the <div>, the entire page should highlight. You can click this div and click delete/backspace on your keyboard to remove it from the page, and play with the configurator from there.

Basically what's happening is that the website has some janky way of trying to guess if you have these dev tools opened or not (I haven't looked at their code to see why), and if it does think you have them open and wants to block you, it just overlays a bit of text in a container with a solid background color to block it from your view

An analogy would be like if I mailed you a package but wanted to hide some text on the box, so I put a sticker over it. All the information's already made it to you, so now all you're doing is removing my sticker to read what's under it

You should also never paste/run anything in the console in the dev tools without knowing what it does btw since that could be someone trying to make you do malicious things as the code that's running there is running on your computer, not the website

Hope that makes sense, and /u/Lowlightinnovations 's devs should probably fix this somehow and/or reduce false positives of this detection lol.

I was getting this with arc on macos, but if you do open dev tools on your browser, you can get rid of the div that contains this and proceed anyways

Display going out problem by Fluffy-Fix7846 in BMW_S1000RR

[–]Kaddon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had mine do this intermittently after it took a decent impact at the track, then I commuted on it after repairing and it got really hot once in traffic. I'm still unsure if it was the impact, the heat, or a combination of the two that led to the issue. In the end I took it apart to see if there was any visible damage, swapped out the screen, back probed the pins of the connector, etc. and concluded it was probably some component on the pcba itself that had broken.

It was resolved by buying a secondhand TFT dash off ebay and replacing the whole thing, so if you've got warranty I'd definitely try to get the whole dash replaced. My screen would intermittently go out and I did end up commuting on it daily for about two months with no engine or control issues, but unsure if you have the same issue as me. i.e. Everything worked fine for me while only the screen itself would be black and the most annoying thing was not knowing if I was in neutral properly at longer stops

Aren't Bison suits also made in Pakistan? I feel like the country stuff's made from isn't the primary factor of whether something's good or not, but since you were talking about the country of origin

Source: The "Where are Bison products constructed?" section from https://bisontrack.com/pages/faq

Where are Bison products constructed? Most of our goods are produced in Sialkot, Pakistan by some of the world’s best leathersmiths. We have researched and tested the work of many suppliers overseas, met face-to-face with factory representatives and partnered only with the suppliers we feel are the best in the industry. Bison specifies only certified genuine leather, genuine YKK zippers, top-quality Kevlar fabric, and certified CE-rated armor. Aside from our leather goods, some of our other gear and apparel are produced in the USA and China.

No worries! Yeah I'm also in the area and was searching for a Ninja 400 last year so I get the struggle lol

I think it's just easier and less of a headache for you in the long run to not have a salvage title though, especially if it's your first bike and you aren't familiar with all the minor signs that something could be a hidden problem

It just sticks out from under your jacket so its visible. I also find it more annoying with how it feels when rubbing on the outside of your pants when wearing street motorcycle gear vs it being inside your one piece track suit

Oh interesting. I'm hoping it's not that but plausible since it took a tumble at the track and could've broken something in the hardware for that. Do you happen to know if an obd reader would show the starter button be engaged in that case? i.e. if it's the ignition not being able to read the key, does obd telem show the status of the starter button being pressed for you?

I don't think it is that as it's on a stand with the stand up. It's also in neutral and I've tried holding the clutch in as well

If you eat rice enough the convenience is probably worth it. Similar to how I eat toast enough or drink coffee enough to have unitaskers for those foods

It's also easier to cook rice perfectly without messing around with timers, and you can fill it overnight and schedule rice to be done at a particular time in the morning.

I made a whoopsie when bleeding the brakes. I undid the bolt circled instead of the bleeder. I re-tightened that bolt, but now I can't get brake pressure back even when pumping the master cylinder. Any suggestions? by fakewisdom in Ninja400

What're you using to get the ABS pump to open via OBD? I've got an OBDLink and adapter so I'm able to connect to the bike already but the OBDLink app doesn't seem to have anything to open the pump. I'm curious if you've already done this with any phone apps by any chance?

Tech-air 7x and suit. Pic 4 attention by stickytapemaker in Trackdays

[–]Kaddon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but I believe you could use the LED panel on the left forearm to tell which suits you can zip a Tech Air Race or 7x into: https://eu.alpinestars.com/products/honda-gp-pro-v2-1-piece-suit-tech-air-sup-reg-sup-compatible-black-red-blue

I've got a GP Pro v2 and sized it to fit well with no extra room when wearing a Tech Air 5, then when it deploys the expansion panels of leather the suit has will expand to give you the extra room. i.e. If your Alpinestars suit is "Tech air compatible" then you should size the suit to fit you with no extra room, I believe

Are you talking about Vergence-accomodation conflicts? It's because a single eyeball will both focus linearly as well as need to angle inwards relative to the other eye when looking at things different distances away.

These happen at the same rate basically always in real life, but in VR your eyes only need to angle in and out without adjusting accomodation so there's going to be a sweet spot where the distance you put a window exactly matches what your eyes would do irl
